A man killed during a random shooting at a West Palm Beach Wendy's restaurant was a fire-rescue lieutenant waiting in line to get a forgotten toy for his child, authorities said.

This was a horrible tragedy. Obviously. Yes it is terrible that the Lt. from the Fire Dept. was killed. I am greatful his wife has such awesome support from Firefighters everywhere as well as Police Officers. She deserves and needs it. Having said that, I wish the news would ALSO focus on the 4 others that were severely injured in this shooting. The news stations really are only talking about the Fire fighter dying which they should..and yes the other 4 did not die..BUT they are in hospitals, recovering from gunshot wounds. That is horrible also. There are funds set up for the firefighter..which there should be, but lets not forget to reach out to the people who are in the hospitals, who may not have insurance or may need help themselves or just support. They count too. Thank you

I feel that the general public is confused on the "concealed weapons" issue. If someone in this establishment would have had a weapon maybe some of the victims would have had a chance. I am not stating that we need vigil anti?s but loyal citizens of "The United States of America". Enough is enough; let the citizens of this beautiful country protect the one's they love... For the love of god, a child lost a father.

I bet this man was killed because the shooter was taking or just quit taking antidepressants like Lexapro, Zoloft or Prozac...

When will the American people get over the love affair of guns. This is crazy, these events are not even shocking anymore. Every week there is some lunatic with easy access to guns going into some public place and killing innocent people.

Right to defend yourself??? against each other?? Better fall in love with body armor I'd say. Guns suck, People who use guns suck.

The American ideal of shoot first is embarrassing, not to mention cowardly. This will never stop.

Massacre......coming to a place near you. Who's next?

Never mind Iraq, People are getting gunned down in number, on our own streets, because we have the right to bear arms.

That translates to, the right to be a pall-bearer
