The horrific wildfires ravaging across southern California has many Coloradoans reflecting on what happened last summer and the summers before, and in many ways, thanking our lucky stars.

What would words of advice would you share with them from your experience? What words of sympathy or condolences would you like to pass on?

Share your thoughts about the California fire.

It is what happens when environmentalists say you can't cut down a dead tree.

This has been very difficult to watch the news and have found it very depressing as I am a 3rd generation born and raised in San Diego mainly Lakeside, Alpine and Julian. I currently live in Washington and know it will be very hard to visit San Diego because I have a lot of wonderful childhood memories there. I pray for all my friends that still live in these areas. I want to thank all the people who have helped. God Bless

My thougts and prayers are with all the families. I grew up in Poway. I lived there from 1965 until 1993. I was in Girl Scouts, and did alot of camping in Julian and Ramona. The areas were always so wonderful. It just makes me angry that he hunter did this. Thankyou to all the firefighters, for everything that you have done.

always thinking of you wilma99

I moved to Colorado in May of 2003 and to hear the stories of the Hayman fire here was just heartbreaking. But, to see the pictures and video of my home town (SD) burning is more than heartbreaking. It is just gut wrenching. Having been born and living most of my life in SD I know every neighborhood the fires have affected and I'm heartbroken that these beautiful places are now just ash. Fortunately, my family and friends who had to evacuate are OK and they didn't lose anything to the fires. My heart and prayers go out to ALL show have suffered and continue to suffer from these devastating firestorms.
