Local managers say Saco's Aquaboggan water park will not open this year, while the park's owners say its future remains "uncertain." We invite you to share your thoughts on the closure and your memories of Aquaboggan.

the owners obviously haven't made a decision one way or the other, what right do others have to say it is definately closing, when those in charge have yet to come to a conclusion. so for now it is just a rumor, especially if the news has not yet talked to the owners...

For you people who are saying this is just a "rumor" did you not listen to the story. They were told by the owners that they were not opening. If it wasnt true then why would the owners say "unclear" or "no decision made"? Why wouldnt they just say "yes we are opening, why wouldnt we"? Doesnt anybody thinks its weird on the news yesterday they said they have tried to call the owners and they havent returned calls? Why not just say they are opening?? Think about it..

I love the park myself, and truly enjoyed visiting with family and friends, as well as working there at one point. I am saddened to see this uproar when no one has confirmed it's closing for sure. I hope it opens to prove everyone wrong and to show those general managers up in maine who first broke the news that they should maybe wait to hear from their higher ups (the owners) before causing such chaos. I truly hope to see this waterpark continue but if not, I'm sure something good will come along.

It pains me to think that Aquaboggan may close down. I am expecting my first child and planned to bring my child there in the future to experience the same fun times that I had there as a child. Aquaboggan is a Maine landmark and will be missed if closed.

I do not understand in all the years Aquaboggan has been open that it will close now. If it doesnt make enough money now how did it ever stay open this long in the first place??

I was at first stunned to hear of the closing of Aquaboggin and then saddened as I recalled many fond memories of the water park. I remember going there as a child with my parents; we would spend the entire day swimming in the wave pool (the best feature)and going down the water slides. I had planned on taking my two year old son there when he was a little bit older so that he could appreciate the fun and excitement of going to Aquaboggin. Going to Aquaboggin in the summer had become a family tradition and now with its closing, we can only speak of the memories instead of live them.
