We all hope Big Ben is going to be okay. I am so mad at how selfish he is to put his life at risk like that. The kids that look up to him, his teammates. Sorry but I thought it was a very inconsiderate thing for him to do. It don't make any sense to me. HE HAS TO WEAR A HELMET WHEN HE PLAYS FOOTBALL, BUT HE DON'T WHEN HE'S RIDING A MOTORCYCLE? I THINK I'VE SAID ENOUGH.

Our foremost focus should be on Big Ben's recovery - as a human being NOT as a football player. Even if he is not ready for this season, I have faith that Batch & the rest of the team will be able to handle the games/season. As I remember it was the Steelers (as a team) that won the Super Bowl, not just Ben. Hopefully Ben will learn from his mistake (that is all part of life - learning from mistakes). I personally do not believe in the helmet being optional, I think every biker should be required to wear one, but it was his choice and he has to live with that choice. We should not be worried that his choice of not wearing a helmet would ruin his career but his health & life should be the main reason. That said. . .my thoughts and prayers are with Ben, his family, and friends on a full recovery - not a speedy recovery - but a FULL recovery. Get well Ben! We love ya!

The accident cannot be undone, and the helmet controversy will go on for a long time. Let us all pray for Ben.....that he make a complete and speedy recovery. Let us be thankful that Ben is still with us. We love you, Big Ben, and our prayers are with you!

Being in a situation as such over 20 years ago, we both were wearing a helmet and I lost my boyfriend and I was in the hospital for 2 months. We were going 35 mph. Lets just pray that Ben recovers and its HIS OWN BUSINESS if he wants to wear a helmet or not. My prayers are with you and your family Ben and God Speed. You'll be back with us very soon.

As much as I like Ben.......I think he stands as an example to young kids that look up to him. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want. However, he has the world in the palm of his hand, a phenomenal future ahead of him...why would he risk everything? Now he may of shortened his playing days? Hoefully for him he didn't. We pray that he will make a full recovery.

I'm tired of everyone talking about him not wearing a helmet. If he was in a car, there probably would have still been an accident. Also, all of these news channels need to leave that woman who hit him alone. The whole thing was just an accident and it should be treated that way.

for the love of god, you would have thought the pope had died. i wish you would give the same amount of attention to the troups and their families that have been lost to this war in iraq. those men and women are true heros. instead we focus on a 20-something who thought he was too cool to wear a helmet. yah, there's alot of maturity there. perfect role model, now, for the use of a helmet. am i the only one who sees the irony there. he has to wear one to play a "game" but not when he rides his motorcycle, abysmal. i hope him the best of luck, he's now become the poster boy for what not to do while riding a motorcycle.
