Comment On Priest Child Sex Abuse Accusations

The bishop has reportedly removed several Pittsburgh Diocese priests because of accusations of child sexual abuse. What is your opinion of this action? What should be done to prevent future problems?

personally, i'm not surprised. Why owuld an organization that primarily believes in ghosts and goblins and other nonsense, feel that they are subject to law. child molestation has been a foundation in the catholic church for years and now that these kid ******* have been caught, they want to be exempt...why? hopefully this will signal the end of the catholic church and jesus, along with santa claus, the easter bunny, and barnie the dinosaur can all go back to happy fun land.

It is disgraceful that the Catholic Church worries about bad publicity over the importance of abused victims. Every bishop who has passed a "credible" - even to the church - offender on to another parish is an accessory to the abuse. How can anyone respect an institution behaving in the same manner as the corporate scandals? the church is in the same league with Enron and other criminals.

Arrest every cardinal, bishop and preist. At the very least, they are all guilty of conspiracy. They've been covering this up for years. As far as I'm concerned, it's justifyable homicide to waste anyone who messes with kids.
Just because you wear a rode (looks like a dress to me) you are not above the law!

Am I mistaken or is child molestation a criminal offense and don't people go to jail for it? Has any Priests gone to jail yet and if not WHY. How can they be above the law? If you can't trust the people that teach the Cathloic religion how can you believe and trust the religion itself? These are the same so called respected people that teach right from wrong and they don't know themselves what it is. It is a very sad day for the church and the criminal justice system.

MY COMMENT IS HOW CAN ONE HAVE THE FAITH WHEN SOMEONE THAT YOU ARE TO RESPECT AND GO TO FOR GUIDENCE IS A PERVERT? THIS REALLY MAKES ME FEEL LIKE GOING TO CHURCH!!

THE CHURCH SHOULD REALIZE THIS ABUSE IS A CRIME AND CONTACT AUTHORITIES, PERIOD. THIS SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE ON THEIR LIST OF WHAT TO DO IN SUCH CASES. THE CHURCH WILL NEVER RESTORE MY FAITH, UNLESS THIS IS DONE .

I agree that this situation happens accross the board, no vocation is exempt. What I don't understand is why in every other vocation or calling, when someone is identified as a Pedophile Sex Offender, they are prosecuted by the laws of the land. Whether we agree with the punishment they receive, normally there is some payback involved. When is the last time a Catholic Priest has been convicted and had to sit in a prison cell for comiiting these crimes against society? Is this similar to Diplomatic Immunity?

Pedophila is a sickness and will continue no matter what. If a pedophile marries or is a priest, the bottom line is that person is a pedophile and will abuse young children no matter where that person is or who he is. We have heard this all too much. How many married pedophiles have been caught abusing children? All too many, Priests marrying is not the answer. I really don't know how this can be screened. This one strike rule is fine, but the problem should be identified BEFORE the act happens.

I am the mother of a son who was sexually molested by a female pedophile in the CATHOLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. I hear absolutely no discussion about female predators in the church.

in greensburg where the vicar and the bishop are covering up and not giving the district atty.the names of the guilty priests they should be held for withholding evidence just like any other citizen would.
