I never had the honor to meet Professor Pausch though I wish I had. I saw him on Oprah, GMA and the program Diane Sawyer did. What an inspiration he was to so many! He impacted so many lives all over the world. He left an amazing legacy. Thank you, Professor Pausch. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.

I lost my brother to lung cancer the day that Randy Pausch died....I had seen him on Oprah and GMA and thought to myself...what a brave man. I know from the experience of what I saw my brother go through I have grown in my faith in God and it also has helped me become more at peace with my own mortality. I have a wonderful friend who has pancreatic cancer and is considered stable at this time. Her diagnosis was made 3-1/2 years ago and the tumor has become encapsulated.....all who love her believe that she is one of the fortunate ones with this dreaded disease.....we pray for her full recovery and thank God everyday that she is able to return to her job fulltime as a nurse. Thank you.

Sincerely, Linda J. Mason

I am saddened by the recent passing of Dr. Randy Pausch. His message of courage and love of family will live on forever. I am beginning to read his book tonight. His words are words that everyone should try to live by. God bless Randy and the family he has left behind. They can be proud of him -- he certainly did live life to the fullest. He has certainly changed my outlook on life.

There is a legend that comes from the Eskimos, I believe. It says that the stars in the sky are really holes in to heaven. And the light that we see is the love of our departed ones shining down upon us. Shine on, Dr Pausch. Shine on.

On Thursday I went to his website for the first time to check to see how he was doing. There was nothing posted since late June. I had been thinking about him and his message since I read his book and saw him on the news and Oprah. I got chills on Friday when I heard he had passed away. His lecture was the most inspirational and insightful of any I had ever heard. I pray for his family and the millions who were touched by him.

As an alumnus (Class of '84), I was convinced that the most creative, bright, and downright decent human beings in the world either tuaght or administered to students at CMU. And I hadn't even "encountered" Randy Pausch until 2008. What a gift his life was, and probably to his deep liking as a professor of computer science. he could share it with us virtually. Now he basks in the glory of his maker, well deserved for a short but full life well lived. Condolences to his family, and eternal peace and light to Dr. Randy, now healed of any illness by the Divine Physician.

All is Gift,

I was so impressed with how Randy Pausch LIVED. It is how we all should live...because life matters. Thank you Randy for the life lessons you taught us. I wish God's blessings on Jai and the children. I'm sorry that their time together has come to an end, but God had a greater plan for Randy. He touched so many lives and inspired us all. Facing a life limiting illness doesn't mean that we should give up. Randy didn't.
