Fred Rogers announced last week that he will stop taping new episodes of "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" after the 2001 season. So what was your favorite episode of all time? Was it the Crayola factory tour? And who was your favorite character? Give us your thoughts on the show!

My favorite episode? I don't know. I can tell you which was my least favorite. When I was in kindergarten (this would be 1967 or 68) they had an episode in which Corny's factory burned down. I was terrified of fire, and seeing that the thing I was most afraid of could intrude even in "the neighborhood" freaked me out about it even more. I didn't sleep for days afterwards. My favorite character was X the owl.

I have two.

The trip to the crayola factory, or the trip to the cheese factory. I learned so much there, with the background of the crayons, and the processes that people and milk goes through to make my favorite food (ugh, that would be the cheese!!!)

Daniel was my favorite, and I am so appreciative of everything that Mr. Rogers did with the children and the information they need to know to live successfully in this world.

I will miss Mr. Rogers' new episodes, and know I will cherish the re-runs until my great-grandchildren prepare to have their children watch!!

Its hard to pick just one episode. Mr. Rogers is like a time machine for me, I see my own children sit and watch Mr. Rogers and remember when I did myself so many years ago. Just watching them ENJOY as I did, Thanks MR. ROGERS for THEN and NOW!!!! From: A PGH KID AND NOW DAD

Just about any episode of Mr. Rogers would be my favorite; however, I can remember Mr. Rogers BEFORE he became "Mr. Rogers". He and Josie Carey had the program "Around the Children's Corner", with Daniel Striped Tiger, X-Cape the Owl, Henrietta ****cat, Grandpere, and King Friday XIII of Calendarland. I was in high school at the time and would run home in order to see the program, not realizing that it was for younger children. I just enjoyed Daniel Tiger. At that time he was president of the "Tame Tiger Torganization" and had received a watch from Mr. Rogers. Every Friday, when the show would be closing for the week, Josie would sing "Goodnight, God", and, I believe, on Mondays she would sing "Good Morning, God". I remember the song - I just don't remember when she sang it. My children were raised with Mr. Rogers -I hope my grandchildren were raised with him, and I certainly hope my great-grandchldren are being raised with him.

When my younger daughter became a teacher, she took some students to the Children's Museum here in Pittsburgh. After she came home that afternoon, she insisted that I go with her that weekend to the Museum because there was something that I HAD to see. We went, she took me to the 2nd floor and told me to wait for a couple of minutes. When she motioned for me to proceed into a room, all I saw was the set-up for the Neighborhood" and the "Love of my Life" - Daniel Striped Tiger! I still enjoy him today, even though I am an old lady! I even have a 33-1/3 LP of the original "Around the Children's Corner", with Josie singing and talking with all of the puppets - and the puppets talking with her. Mr. Rogers has been a marvelous addition to our "Neighborhood" all these years, and will be sorely missed when he retires. God Bless you, Fred Rogers. And thank you for being you. I like you "just the way you are."

I don't know about a favorite episode, but I remember that Mister Rogers used some wacky video screen on the wall. Besides having an amazing talent of keeping a child's attention for at least a half an hour, can we also credit him with inventing the flat-screen TV? Just wondering... Any thoughts?
