Where have you come across some asphalt craters? Which areas are the worst?

Post the name of the street and the neighborhood where you have seen a large pothole. WTAE Channel 4 Action News may go check it out!

NOTE: You must be as specific as possible with the street name, the name of a cross street or the block number, nearby landmarks, etc. General comments like "my whole neighborhood is bad" will not be accepted.

There is a serious pothole problem that I know of. It is located just east of the Ohio state line and runs just east of Greensburg and also includes the areas north of Morgantown to just south of New York

Some potholes waiting to happen are in the spots that utility companies dig up the roads then use the cheapest possible black top to fill them in. To add insult to injury, they do not level the patchwork they have done. A prime example of this can be found on Shady Ave. near the garden center. Bumps and shallow spots filled in with junk.

North Braddock- Library Road that turns into Jones Ave. Right under the train trestle. They have a sign up that says "Rough Road". That is an understatement.

East Ohio Street by the intersection of James Street is horrible. There are "yeild to peds" signs all over the street, but how can you yeild if your car is being THROWN all over the road because of not potholes but sinkholes!!! I also agree with taxpayer about Warrington Ave going toward Rt. 51. These sinkholes in Pittsburgh are only job security for the people in the tire business!!!

OK, I have had enough of the craters on McArdle Road. There are four different hot spots on that hill and it is literally a matter of time before someone swerves into oncoming traffic to miss these tire destroying craters. I have seen PennDOT shut down McArdle Road a couple of different times and it would be nice if they would shut it down to actually fix it. No more slopping some blacktop into the craters and driving away. It needs to have the sections that are riddled with pot holes cut out and have all new concrete poured into it and smoothed out! It must be smoothed out! I have seen other repairs that were done and the road is even worse now that it is fixed because there are these little mounds of blacktop all over the place. It would be nice to see something done right on McArdle hill instead of wasting all of the materials that they have because they are knocked loose a couple days later. Please do something about this because it is not a normal road, it is a busy road with a dangerous drop off and the situation is getting worse. Despite the attempts to fix the problem it has gotten worse and must be dealt with. I am asking please, have this road fixed once and for all. There are also some horrible streets in Mount Washington. Merrimac St.- the street McArdle turns into after intersecting with Gradview Ave. and also Virginia St. all the way from the intersection with Merrimac to the Foodland! These are dangerous roads and until they are fixed PennDOT shoudl be held accountable. People shoudl have to wrry about ruining their tire or rim when they go to the store. It could turn a simple run to the gas station to get a newspaper into a couple hundred dollars for a new rim and tire, not to mention the tow truck. PennDOT is responsible and are liable and should receive the bill.

After hitting a major crater on I-70 coming into Washington PA, West bound, just before the I-70 on ramp by Sam's Club area, my tired and rim were completely ruined, which is the 3rd one since January 3rd from different holes, two in PA and one in WV. I'm on a first name basis at the dealer repair shop.

After snowbirding in Florida for 3 months and not seeing a pothole there, then driving the interstate highways north thru Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia & West Virginia, again not seeing any "ordinary" potholes, only seeing road damage in construction areas, I came into Pennsylvania and in a few miles was welcomed home to the "pothole" state when I turned onto I-70. What a mess !!! Something's wrong, somewhere !!!

West 5th Avenue (aka Lysle Blvd) coming from the Dravosburg (Mansfield) Bridge into McKeesport is horrible! Not only are there large potholes in all shapes and sizes, but there are railroad tracks exposed that were once buried under multiple layers of paving! It's a four lane road but most drivers are forced into the middles to avoid serious damage. I've replaced 2 tires, needed an alignment and now a strut! The entire stretch needs replaced, but at this point I'd settle for some - ANY - serious patching!
