A major fire damaged the Gatorland park in Orange County on Monday morning. It's one of Florida's most historic attractions. You can share your stories about Gatorland, and they may be included in WESH 2 News coverage.

Only comments that include your name and city are eligible to be used on WESH 2 News.

What a shame~ was the first thing that came to mind~ a tragic fire. we were just there weeks before the fire. and enjoyed it soo much.. I have every confidence they will become stronger from this tragedy! I have photos to remember it by, but the guy on the train ride was the best. funny and very nice. floridians will pull together and rebuild i know this. I'm from Mississippi, went to school here in florida in Deland. for years gatorland has been a featured attraction on my list every visit, and it will continue.. If i can do anything just let me know, god bless you for helping rebuild. the memories are priceless as so are the employees.. thank for the memories and for the ones to come in the future.. Tammy~

Thanks for the memories Tammy Joy

My grandparents used to live in Kissimmee, and I remember when I visited them one year with my dad, when I was about 7, he gave me the choice to go to Dineyworld, Ebcot, and Universal, and Gatorland, and I said "I want to go to GATORLAND!!!" I live in California, and I have always loved Gatorland! I visited Florida about 3 years ago, and I made sure that I visited Gatorland. I really hope they are able to re-build the same way they used to be, with the entrance being through the gators mouth. I wish them all the best! I hope to visit them again!

Wow, this is a very sad situation for gatorland and for the people who have visited the park. I remember going there when I was like 11. I hope they rebuild quikly because I'll be taking my kids there to see the gators. Kethon Colbert, Sr.

After moving to Orlando in 1972 we spent many Sunday afternoons at Gatorland. It was fun, educational and affordable. I am sure we are not alone. Hope you rebuild and re open.

We are so deeply saddened by this fire. When we lived in Michigan, Gatorland was one of the first places we brought grandchildren when we came to visit. Now, living in Deltona, we always suggest Gatorland for our guests. We hope Gatorland will rise up out of the ashes.

I feel badly in that this was one of the "originals". Something truly Floridian in a sea of Pop Culture. Hopefully a minimum of animals have perished and things will be rebuilt quickly.

My family has 3 generations of memories It was the first park my parents took my sister and I to when we moved to FL. We live in Germany now and my parents who live in central FL called to tell us about the fire. We hope the animals are ok! My teenagers went there this past summer. I really hope they rebuild it the way it was. I am sure we all have the same picture of our head in the gators mouth.

As difficult as it must be to rescue an alligator, for the firefighters to be told that they were not to even try and rescue any of the animals is right on thinking for this society. I can GUARANTEE you that if there were human beings inside there, that every attempt possible would have been made. Just because they are snakes, gators or other repile/amphibian does not make their lives any less important. They did not ask to be held captive there! And regardless of what you have read, yes there were some that perished due to the fire. A certain morning radio news show attempted to make light of the situation by saying that they were ONLY alligators and "who cares." They continued by saying that the good ol boys could have Gatorland restocked by the end of the day. Pretty shallow and ignorant if you ask me !!!!
