There have been reports of three popular vehicles suddenly bursting into flames. Have you experienced a problem with your car or truck?

Ford F 150 Burned in my drive after sitting there over 5 hours. I had carried it into local dealership in Anderson, SC on two occasions with recall letters in my hand. On my first trip the first words from service dept was that they did not have the part in stock. They then checked and said mine was not one of the VIN numbers being recalled. The second trip was almost the same, still no parts in stock. They then unplugged the cruise control, but before I could pull out of the bay the service manager called out and told the mechanic to plug it back up that mine was not in the recall list. I understand Ford is not replacing the part, but only putting a jumper to bypass the problem. I think they have tried to piece mill their problem at the owners expence. Ford says they have no repsonsibility to my problem. Furman Beck Townville, SC 864 934 3704

On October 6th 2006, my 1999 Ford F150 caught fire in my driveway. It was not running. According to the Dayton Fire Department, and the Forensic firm that inspected the vehicle, the fire originated at the master cylinder--the exact place that the Ford cruise control engineering defect is located. The vehicle is/was insured, however I use the vehicle for my living. My insurance company will only settle with me for nothing more than blue book value. This doesn't begin to approach the disruption to my life and business. Fortunately, there was no major property damage or loss of life. I have spoken with Ford's legal department and they are refusing to make any accomdations for my losses. I had made a simple and very modest proposal to them to make things right---in fact my request to Ford was significantly less than the losses I have altready suffered. Further, I was asking for a modest accomodation in purchasing a new Foprd vehicle; a situation that would kept me as a Ford customer. I would like to speak to anyone else who has experienced the Ford Cruise Control Fire. I can be reached at 937-239-5011. Call anytime. Matt York
Please contact me at 937-239-5011, particularly if you have experienced a Ford related fire. thanks. Matt York

Last week my Ford E350 started on fire while it was unattended. The fire department said that all evidence pointed to the origination under the driver's seat. The van is totaled. The only electronics under the driver's seat was the seat belt sensor and a black box. Anybody else experience a similar situation?

I WAS THE OWNER OF A 1998 FORD EXPLORER UNTIL 10/10/05. THE TRUCK HAD BEEN SITTING IDLE IN THE GARAGE FOR OVER 2 HOURS AND THEN SUDDENLY A FIRE OCCURED. I AM THANKFUL THAT MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER NOTIFIED ME, MY 8 YEAR OLD SON OF THE FIRE AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE HOME IN TIME. WE HAVE SINCE BEEN OUT OF OUR HOME DUE TO EXTENSIVE REPAIRS THAT HAVE BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE FIRE ON 10/10/05. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2006. NOT SURE WHEN WE WILL BE IN THE HOME BUT WE CAN ONLY BE THANKFUL THAT WE WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE. FORD SENT THEIR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS TO THE HOME AND THEY RULED THAT IT WAS IN FACT THE FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH.. WAY TO RULE, BUT STILL NO COMPENSATION AND NO VEHICLE. .HELP WHAT DO WE DO NOW! Being this is quite recent...My incident happened 2 days ago. We own a 2002 Ford Expedition, well long story short, I was coming home from work on a Friday night, at the very last minute decided to stop and pick up something, ran into the store for NOT even 10 minutes...a gentleman came running inside and asked if anyone owned a black expedition, and than informed me it was on fire..this all happened in a very busy toys r us parking lot...thankfully no one was injured and the quick response of the fire department. But thankfully none of my 4 children were in the vehicle with me. The engine is completely melted along with the hood looking like a meteror hit it, the front tires melted. The fireman on the scene told me it was definately electrical due to the intensity of the heat and localized burning. and after numerous strangers informing of the recall, i than found out that there was a recall (we have yet to receive any notification from anyone). Now here comes the waiting game with the insurance company and Ford....by the way.. this is from Ontario, Canada

My 1995 Ford f150 caught fire because of the cruise control switch. I have been in contact with Ford and am running into numerous road blocks. Ford is only offering to pay the truck off rather than fixing it which is completely unfair. On one hand we were lucky in that noone was hurt and the only thing damaged was the truck. On the other hand, we are unlucky in that I have been paying on this truck for 4 years and if I accept thier offer I am left with nothing to show for all those payments. I could understand if I had wrecked the truck and the insurance totalled it, but this is not my fault, it's thiers. My truck is fixable and I believe that they have an obligation to do just that. Has anyone else had problems with Ford like this? There are a few class action suits out there but only for people who were injured or killed or who had major property damage. Ford wants the rest of us to just shut up and go away. We need help. If anyone else is having similar problems I would like to know. Thanks.

My best friend's 20 year old son was doing some remodel work for my husband recently. He parked his Ranger (late 90's model) in the driveway of the customer's home and came out to find it on fire. It ultimately expoloded and left some damage to the driveway. Now the homeowner wants to sue my husband for the damages. It also heated up the tree above it, damaging some leaves. This will also be in the lawsuit. From what I am hearing, the Ranger is not on the list of recalls, but needs to be. I don't have any information yet from the investigation of the incident, but would have to assume that it is probably caused by the same thing. Is there a class action lawsuit that we can get involved in for this to protect outselves?

On September 4, 2005 I replaced a blown fuse in my 1998 FORD RANGER. The fuse was for the cruise control. When I put my foot on the brake to put the vehicle in gear I noticed smoke from under the hood. When I opened the hood I found the cruise control brake disconnect switch on fire. It was flaming on the front of my master cylinder reservoir. I put the fire out with a towel which broke the switch in half. FORD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE RANGER AS A RECALL VEHICLE!!! I have owned Fords for decades, I am now wondering if I should seek another brand after paying out $500 for repairs after this fire. This is wrong and Ford should fix it before someone gets killed or hurt really bad. LEOINCFL
