Crowds rioted near the Ohio State campus after the Buckeyes' win over Michigan. Give us your thoughts on the incidents.

Please refer to them as adults, not students. The streets were full of adults over the age of 18, not all were students. Fully accountable to the law. Rioting is one of the most severe crimes against society, anarchy cannot be tolerated. Forewarn beforehand, and disperse crowds immediately. If you have to break some heads, do so. I don't want one tax dollar spent to repair public or private property, if the actions could have been prevented.

Kindest Regards, from Clintonville

150 PEOPLE? GIVE ME A BREAK! YOU APPARENTLY WERE NOT IN ARIZONA THIS LAST JANUARY. IT'S DISCUSTING THAT A UNIVERSITY AND A STATE LIKE OHIO HAS SUCH DISPICABLE PEOPLE AS CITIZENS. NOT ONLY VULGAR, ALCOHOLIC LUNATICS, BUT ALSO CRIMINALS TAHT SHOULD'VE BEEN LOCKED UP. ANY OTHER STATE WOULD HAVE DONE SO. IF YOU MAKE THE PROBLEM SEEM SMALL THEN IT'LL BLOW UP IN YOUR FACE. NEXT TIME THE NAT'L GUARD WILL HAVE TO BE CALLED IN. AS A MATTER OF FACT, "DIDN'T THE GOVERNOR OF OHIO HAVE THE GUARD ON STAND BY?

CRIMINALS ARE CRIMINALS NO MATTER HOW YOU DRESS THEM UP OR HOW MUCH PERFUME YOU POUR ON THEM.

Evidence has shown that most of the rioters have nothing to do with Ohio State University. OSU is taking action against all trespassers and rioters of the university. I have a real problem with your stereotype of the entire state of Ohio being vulgar and violent just by your observation of 150 drunken people at a football game.

It's apparent that the riots in Columbus were not enough. It not only hurts me to say this as an American, and former college student, but as a person who has had friends and acquaintances from the state of Ohio. Except for the criminals that I come in contact with in my line of work, I have never seen criminal behavior such as that displayed by Ohio State fans and students in Arizona this past New Year. The topping on the cake was when a whole section in the upper deck of the Fiesta Bowl booed not only the president of the University of Miami and the Mayor of Tempe, but went as far as continuing to BOO during the singing of God Bless America and the National Anthem. I saw not only young and old women harassed to the point where police had to be called in, but also, the outright jailhouse vulgarity shown by people representing Ohio State in Arizona. It was rare throughout the week to meet someone from Ohio that displayed any degree of civility. While Ohio State conducted their pep rally without any disturbances, Miami fans had to be subjected to vulgarity, boos, and other obscene behaviors during their pep rally. I have never seen such display of contempt for others before. I have traveled through many domestic and foreign cities and attended many events, sporting and non-sporting. Outside of European soccer matches, I have never seen behavior bordering on criminality and outright distaste for civility, decency and moral behavior. I can now understand the embarrassment and shame that the president of Ohio State University felt when Columbus was almost scorched to the ground last year. There is no excuse for this sort of conduct to be taking place in this country. I, along with family and friends, can guarantee you all that, until such behavior changes, we will not set foot anywhere near the state of Ohio or any function that includes Ohio State University. It is a shameful sad state of affair! It is a sad state of affair when people burn down their own hometown and then display the same criminal behavior in other parts of the country.

Do not miss the message here. This has nothing to do with football. It has to do with people who have no regards for property or humans. The law of the jungle is no where to be found in criminal codes in this country. The country will go forward while the city of Columbus and the state of Ohio have to live with this shame.

If the university along with the city and state decide to ignore this issue we will all be talking about it this coming football season.

There is No, reason to RIOT, over a Sporting Event ever. All those who broke the Law need to be arrested and put in Jail. They are Not Students, They are Thugs. Thugs need to be in Jail. If the yuppies can't handle that, to bad. If the Law is Not Enforced to the fullest extent possible. It sends the message that if you are working towards a B.A. or M.A. or Phd. Then what you do and the damage you cause is not a B.F.D. What we Need is a DRAFT. Mahalo.

WHY DON'T THE POLICE TURN WATER HOSES ON THE PUNKS ??? SOAK THEM DOWN WITH COLD WATER. MAYBE THAT WOULD SOBER THEM UP A LITTLE. SEEMS TO ME THAT WOULD BE A VERY SIMPLE WAY OF GETTNG THEM OUT OF AND OFF THE STREETS .

To all the people who continue to blame the police for the riots on campus I have just one thing to say...grow up. The police were doing their jobs, and that was to enforce the law and to keep a bunch of drunken idiots from burning cars and dumpsters, vandalizing cars and others' personal property, blocking roadways, and otherwise acting like drunken hooligans. I am an OSU alumni and have done my share of partying at OSU. But to blame the police for "causing" the riots is more than ignorant. If people hadn't been blocking the street, burning dumpsters, throwing bottles and bricks at cops and firefighters, and other acts of vandalism and violence, then there never would have been a need for cops in riot gear to be there. Do you think the cops want to be in a riot situation on what should be their day off? Do you think they like to get pelted with rocks and bottles, not knowing if someone in the crowd is drunk and stupid enough to shoot at one of them or try to stab someone? It has happened before. I have known at least several people who were seriously injured by drunken rioters and in at least one case, stabbed in the stomach when trying to keep someone from vandalizing his car. So now what I have to say to you ignorant rioters is this: Get the Hell out of my town you drunk idiots...and stay out. Go back to your parents' house and vandalize their livingroom.
