Unfortunately I cannot say this comes a total surprise to me. I live in a condo that was formerly managed by Multivest during which time we were shocked to learn that we on the verge of bankruptcy with no money in the bank to pay for our insurance, utilities or landscaping. This was 2 years ago! Multivest would never return our calls or let us see the books. Our request for an audit was denied. All of the homeowners were finally forced to pay a $200,000 assessment so we would have money to pay our bills, at which time Multivest abrutly quit on us at the end of 2005. I always felt like something was wrong. Things were such mess. If Multivest did this anywhere, it probably started here. Things were out of control. The condo association is Lenox Creek in Strongsville. I hope the FBI is looking into it.

I, being a condo dweller, absolutely cannot believe something like this could happen. I would think a management company would be required to be bonded, handling and managing money for property owners. This is a real scary situation. Actually, one on the condos we own was managed by Multivest. We haven't heard what impact they have had on our complex. In this day and age, it's a shame you just can't sit back, relax & trust people. Always have to have your guard up, as they say. Let's hope this all works out for the owners of all these properties.

As an owner at one of the affection Associations, I can't tell you how infuriating this is. Will we have any personal protection in this case, or will be all be left high and dry, unable to sell our units and at risk of personal financial devastation?
Yeah, I hope the FBI will be all over this. And that they'll pay very careful attention to any owners who may have served on multiple boards of affected condos about the time Multi-Vest's services were retained. Especially if they've recently sold off their properties and are no longer in the area.
Just sayin'
