Six Marines from northeast Ohio have been killed in Iraq. This is the largest number of casualties experienced in one attack for northeast Ohio. Share your thoughts or condolences to the Ohio families.

I just wanted to tell the families that I appreciate what their loved ones did for our country. Today, August 17, my brother leaves for Iraq. He was told that he will be there for 12 months. I just pray to God that he comes home safe. I know that your loved ones are still trying to keep the men and women over seas safe so that they can return home to their loved ones. You have given the ultimate sacrifice for my safety. Thank you my thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the family and friends of those who lost their lives in Iraq; It is difficult to know what to say... everything sounds so trivial. Your loved ones died protecting freedom, our country, me, my children. I am in awe of their bravery, courage, and the sacrifice that they have given and we shed tears right along with you for the loss of such wonderful, giving people. I pray for the families that have been handed the ulitmate sacrifice and I pray for those families who have loved ones in Iraq and elsewhere. To the servicemen fighting for us... you are always in our hearts and prayers. We support you and are proud for what you are accomplishing. You are all HEROES!!

To the Montgomery family and to all the families that have lost a loved one,

I would just like to send out my condolences and sympathies to these Heroes and their families. Brian was a close family friend for years. My prayers are with these families during these trying times, and always. As I was driving down the road today I thought to myself how great it is to know that these brave men and women are across the waters battling to keep our streets safe. We all seem to take our freedom for granted sometimes. When a death hits this close to home it really makes you think about your freedom. All I can do now is thank every single one of them for my freedom. I grew up with Brian and his brother Eric. Both great men. Eric, I can't thank you enough. You were always a great friend, but now I have a whole new respect for you. Thank you!

Sympathies, Marc Yaeger

I work in Mentor and as I was driving out to lunch I saw the people lining the streets to bid farewell to Brian Montgomery who was being laid to rest at a church today. I broke into tears when I saw a little girl holding a banner that read "Pray for Peace". I will pray every day that our men and women come home and I will pray for those that made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Farewell to Lance Cpl. Montgomery and to those who lost life and family..may they all rest in peace.

Sincerely, Jessica

Hello, I'm a singer/songwriter/performer form NJ. I've written a song entitled "Forever Free" This song is a dedication to those who have given their lives for our freedom and the families they leave behind. Anyone wishing to download the song can do so for free from my website www.thebobpoldingband.com. The song is also being broadcasted to our troops via military radio. I have also performed the song "live" on some local radio stations. My band and I have also been performing at a variety of Support The Troops Rallies, and the song will be featured in a video entitled "Thank a Soldier". All proceeds from the video will go to a college fund for the children of fallen soldiers. I was hoping you could help me reach the people for whom the song was written. Hope you enjoy the song, and I'm looking forward to speaking with you. Regards Bob Polding bobpolding@aol.com www.thebobpoldingband.com 973-953-7572

Although I may not ever stand in your shoes, my heart hurts for you, my tears are shed for you, and my prayers are offered up for you. I may not know the extent of the pain you are feeling, but I do know that we all are mourning with you. I lost a loved one 5 years ago...my sister, the pain will never go away, the hole in your heart will never heal, but if you open your heart and your mind, they will comfort you. God Bless you and your family! Your loved one will never be forgotten. Semper Fi

As a Seven Hills native, and proudly serving with the United States Marine Corps in Iraq, I would like to thank all those who send their support. What happened last week was indeed tragic. I did not know the Marines that gave their lives personally, but I do know that they gave their lives in the most honorable way a Marine can, they died in the line of duty to protect our great nation. Everyone should be proud of them, and continue to support us. Their loss is very hard, not only thier families back home, but for their brothers serving next to them here in Iraq. Thank you all again for all the support that is given to us service members.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All

Respectfully Submitted, Corporal Michael J Galletti USMC

Past the seeker as he prayed came the crippled and the beggar and the beaten. And seeing them...he cried, "Great God, how is it that a loving creator can see such things and yet do nothing about them?"...God said, "I did do something. I made you." - Sufi Teaching

They shall be missed.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

As the astonauts remember the fallen, we too remember the sons, husbands, and fathers who have given their life for our safety. Ohio mourns their passing; As a Mother, I feel for those who cry in despair. I pray for you all that God will grant you peace and help us find a way to end this horrible mess. God Bless all of you.
