After weeks of rumors and speculation, Brett Favre has reportedly been traded to the New York Jets for a draft pick. Are you just glad the soap opera is over and glad to see him leave or will you be cheering for the Jets this year?

Share with us your thoughts on what has happened.

OK McEngineer then using your failed logic we will have to keep current Packer management because currently the Packers have a better season record than do the NY Jets.

The goal of any football team is to have the best players possible on your team in order to win and regardles of Favres action, it should be clear that the management had not intention of wanting Favre part of the organization because of the Bribe to get him to stay retired. Their is no way that the Packers are a better team without Favre and clearly the share holders of the Packers need to remove the management for failing to do what is in the best interest of the Team, Shareholders, and Fans.

I told all you chicken little crowd before this season started that there is a whole lot more to a football team than just the QB.

One moron made the statement that the Pack would be 0 and 16 this year.

I stand by my statement pinwizde that the Packers will win more games this year than will the NY Jets.

One person does not a football team make and the Packers have many fine young players on their team.

I really don't see Favre doing anything special this year without the Packers to carry him along.

Don't know if Arod is the answer or not but if he isn't I am certain the Packers will come up with one.

Don't see the Packers doing a repeat of the 70's and 80's either like many in the chicken little crowd proclaim.

Druid88, do you really think, that Brett wanted to be traded? Didn't you see Brett's press conference from N.Y.? If the Packers offered me 12 Million to be back up Qb., which is what they offered Brett, I would have taken it. Brett wanted his starting streak unbroken, which is what led to him be traded, and that is the whole saga behind the soap opera. When Brett announced his retirement, the Packer management wanted his decision before he was ready to give it. One other thing, Brett would not even be in this position, today had the Packers picked up the still great Randy Moss, or a premiere break away wide receiver, which the Packers haven't had since Sterling Sharpe! I will be honest, the last couple of years, I have been more of a Favre Fan than a Packer Fan. I am now a Jaguars Fan, since I live closer to the Jags, and I don't like Mike McCarthy and his inept coaching or the Packers inept choice of A. Rodgers to be the Qb. of the future. The Jags and Chargers will be in the hunt for the A.F.C. Title at the end of the season. I know for sure, the Packers will not be playing for the N.F.C. Title, instead they will be in the hunt for First Round Draft Pick! Yes I agree with you, Packers will win 2 games, I forgot about the Lions!

One thing that you overlook in your response pinwizde is the fact that Favre retired and then later dragged the Packers through one of the ugliest soap operas in NFL history.

It is very obvious that Favre had this all planned out and wanted away from the Packers. He got his wish and so be it. So the Jets do 5 and 11 this year, LOL. With Favre tossing the ball into the arms of the opposing teams in final moments of games and finally gets booed out of NY.

What you are completely missing is the fact that the great season Favre had last year did not happen in a vacuum. It happened with a team that TT and MM built all around Favre.

Packers going 0 and 16 this year? Laughable at best.

I would wager that this years Packers do better than the NY Jets do this season.

Druid 88,I am not saying that the Packers should hold on to Brett forever, but Brett did have the 2nd best season of his career last year. You don't get rid of your quarterback when he is on top of his game, and as a matter of fact, this has never happened in the history of the N.F.L..Furthermore it was Mike's decision to practice indoors, while the Giants practiced outdoors in freezing temperatures. If the GREAT Lombardi was still alive and coaching, the Packers would have practiced all week in the cold and the weather wouldn't have been a factor for the game! I repeat, Rodgers will be a bust...0-16 see you later!

pinwizde, if all of what you say comes to fruition then TT will be packing his bags.

But I differ with you on a number of points.

Last season I was watching a Packer team that was being built all around Favre. They were allowing him to play his game unfettered. This doesn't at all coincide with your statements that TT and MM are trying to destroy the Packers.

Nobody forced Favre to retire. He did it all on his own.

The soap opera that Favre just placed the Packers through in my opinion is far worse than any crap I have seen from management.

We all had to suck it up every time Favre threw the ball into the arms of the opposing team in the final moments of many games but Favre didn't have the ability to suck it up and make a firm commitment to Green Bay when he was asked the question by MM.

The Packers are moving on and I think that they really had no alternatives considering the childish antics of Favre.

I don't expect a super season this year but from what I was looking at in the 1st exhibition game we are definitely going to see some exciting football from GB this season.

Nor do I expect Favre to do****with the Jets. In fact, I expect for Favre to be booed out of NY as soon as he starts doing his usual crap of throwing the ball away.

So stomp your feet and huff and puff but the Packers are moving forward with a new young team minus one prima donna who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn when it really counted.

This is why I call all of you naysayers the chicken little crowd.

The sky isn't falling and Favre is a has been who is a legend in his own mind at this point but little to back it up in real time.

He's only got a few years left.

So when in your mind is the time for the Packers to move forward with a new young team?

NEVER?

Just keep playing Brett until the Packers are screwed right into the ground and all the new young players are old and gray?

I fail to see any logic behind your madness.

I would like to make one other point, take a look at Rodgers statistics. Aaron has substituted for Brett 33 times in his 2 years with the Packers, has thrown 157 yards no Tds.,1 interception, and has been injured twice. Craig Nall in 2004 substituted for Brett 23 times, threw 314 yards, 4 Tds., and never was injured. Look up Favre's back up Qb's on the internet, and all his back ups were sought after by other teams. NOT ONE TEAM has busted down the Packer doors for Rodgers, because he himself, will be a bust! The Packers let Nall go, because Thompson wants his legacy with the Packers...LOSERS! Can you say REPEAT of the 70's and 80's, one losing season after another? RON WOLFE WHERE ARE YOU?....HELP!
