Brett Favre has been a household name around Wisconsin and the NFL for a long time. What is your favorite memory? If you're not a fan of the three-time MVP because he's beaten your favorite team over the years, what do you remember most about the Packers quarterback?

Funny thing is that you hate on Brett Favre, but that's the guy Tony Romo grew up admiring. If you hated watching Brett Favre you're, going to hate the years Tony Romo is your QB. More than one NFL commentator has noted the two have similar styles. One difference though. Although Brett lost his fair share of playoff games, he never lost one because he couldn't get the hold down on a chip shot field goal try.

YES THAT BRETT,HE SURE HAD CLASS.FALLING DOWN TO GIVE MICHAEL STRAHAN THE SACK RECORD,ABANDONNING HIS BUDDY MARK CHUMURA,HANGING STERLING SHARPE OUT TO DRY,OF COURSE VICODIN MADE IT ALL POSSIBLE.SHOWING UP TO CHARITY EVENTS AND TAKING OFF AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.WHEN THE PACKERS WON,IT WAS I DID THIS,I DID THAT WHEN THEY LOST IT WAS WE DIDN'T DO THIS ,WE DIDN'T DO THAT.TOO BAD THE COWBOYS COULD NOT BEAT THE GIANTS AND BRETT COULD HAVE ENDED IT ALL AT TEXAS STADIUM.IF THEY ARE THE COWGIRLS,WHAT DOES THAT SAY FOR THE FUDGE - PACKERS.

My favorite Favre memory, among so many, was the 2003 game against the Raiders, right after Big Irv died. Not only was the game almost a surreal experience to watch, but I watched it from a birthing suite at St. Mary's. My wife had gone into labor at about 5:00, but things proceeded very slowly, so I watched the game and all the postgame coverage on ESPN. My wife was totally out of it due to the epideral and the drugs. I remember nurses coming in and out, and me watching the game with a tear in my eye, both for Brett and the upcoming excitement of being a first time Dad. It was one of the most special nights of my life. Our little Packer fan arrived at 6:30 the next morning, and no, we didn't name him Brett, just in case you were wondering.

My name is Crystal, and I thought I would let everyone know just how much of a PACKER & FAVRE diehard my dad really is...I received this email the other day from him, in regards to Brett Favre's retirement. I proceeded to tell him that Favre didn't die, but retired. My dad simply said, "We are celebrating the end of his career!"
A Memorial service will be held Sat. Mar 8th at about 6:30 to Honor Brett Favre`s legend.
It will be held at our home.
In leu of flowers donations can be made to the Mineral Point Gridiron Club . Please wear your green and gold and help honor #4.

well anyone that involved us beating the Cowgirls, Vikings and Bears. And let's not forget his being "stalked" by Warren Sapp everytime they played Tampa Bay - He got him a couple of times but Brett always got up smiling! And never forget the way Holmgren would "bap" him on the head after a not so good play.
Brett Favre is quite possibly the best quarterback to have ever played the sport. Cut & dried. Tony Romo is good, but how can anyone compare him to Brett Favre!??! That's just crazy! With all the TO's & Mosses out there playing the game, his integrity, honesty & sportsmanship were always welcome! He brought pride back to Green Bay and hopefully showed all professional athletes how to be an icon to so many people. So many kids look to Brett & Deanna as heros and it's nice to know they both give them someone possitive to look up to in a world where there aren't a whole heck of alot of positive roll models out there.
Aaron Rodgers has some big shoes to fill but how exciting it's going to be to watch the start of a new era here in Wisconsin!! Hopefully Madden will have more mercy on Aaron than he did Brett. "
Thanks, Brett. You'll be missed!
have a great day,
sue

There are so many, and so many are tied to personal events. Like not really knowing how to pronounce Brett's last name after his first game. My husband and I watched a game (losing effort) on the one day of our honeymoon. All three of our girls only know one QB for the Pack. And the way "The Streak" just kind of snuck up on us. First Sharpe retired and Brett went on, but he was young. Then Reggie White retired and Brett went on, and soon it was unthinkable that he wouldn't play every game.
Thanks for all of it. The good and bad, the highs and lows, the inspiring and the ugly, it was a great ride.

Hard to pick, but ditto to a few other posts about the Oakland game after Brett's father passed away. One word - inspirational. I told my middle school students, as we were watching the press conference today at lunch, that in the world of big-money, spoiled-brat professional athletes, Brett is a true class act - as a quarterback and as a person. GO PACK!

It is much too difficult to list only one. I remember when Majkowski was injured and Favre came in. I remember him doing his only Lambeau Leap.
If I had to choose one, I would have to say it would be his reaction after winning Super Bowl XXXI.
He will be greatly missed, but he made the decision he wanted.
I am grateful for the wonderful memories!

My favorite Favre moment had to be the 2003 playoffs overtime loss to the Eagles. I can see the lollipop landing in Brian Dawkins arms. Hopefully Aaron Rogers can carry on the tradition of the stupid turnover that costs the Packers a win.
