The pain of this horrific event will live with the famiies and our community forever. Unlike disease or a natural disasters, Violence doesn't have to happen and it is preventable. Violence just perpetuates itself, so isn?t it time to say enough is enough. As a response to this event and other violent events like it, I suggest a campaign of "RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS" Just one act a day, a week, a month. One at a time lets change the norm, lets change the world. ~ Holly Gage

I work at the Birth Care Center In Bart,Pa and I was there when Naomi Rose was born and recently when the mother of the child who was taken off life support and is still living had her baby a few weeks ago, and let me tell you these people have more faith and courage then any one I know. I am proud to work with them and support them in any way possible.

God Bless us all

Thank you for the interview with the Amish couple. I am glad that they had a chance to speak out. I was great to hear that the girls are recovering so well. May their recovery continue. Emotional recovery will take much longer and be much harder, but their strong community and strong Faith will guide them.

Obviously, this message will only get delivered if it is passed on by common friends, but I want to thank the Amish couple in this interview for enlightening us on the great news about the miracle girls of 10/6. To hear details about their rehab warms the heart, and it would be great to get updates from time to time on how their progress is going. Hopefully, the news only gets better. And, despite their beliefs about privacy, which of course we respect, the community can continue to hear great updates every once in a while. I think all who think of them will agree that we would like to hear nothing but good news for them from now on. I think they, and baby Naomi, will always have a special spot in our hearts. Hopefully, more good news will be fothcoming from time to time.

Sincerely, bds

I live 5 houses from the old school. I pass this every morning on my way to work. I still get chills up my spin when I pass this empty lot. This is something that is going to take a long time to get over. In time we will heal but we will never foget that horrable day.

Our hearts go out to each and everyone involved. The say things happen for a reason, I hope everyone's mind can be put to rest someday because they found the reason.I am sure most of us have no idea what it is like for the families to try to continue everyday with their lives and their loss.

I just want the nickel mines community to know that there faith has healed me in many ways. We may be of diferent cultures but one faith! Our God will bring them through this and as they said, he allowed it to happen for a reason and I urge everyone to stop and just lift them up in prayer!!! May God comfort and heal every person effected by this tragedy. My heart goes out to all.

I have a very close friend who attended the Nickel Mine school. Her heart aches so much...I can only say, that the people of Nickel Mine are correct, we need to fogive. However, people need to talk & feel. Purposely, I have left my door and ear open for my friend, who is so devistated and who has not yet shed a tear, for her anger has her trapped and this is the school she grew up in. I keep reassuring her, that I am here for her if she needs to talk, yell, or cry. This it truely what those who are effected need, our understanding and comfort. Feelings will be strong and intense and those effect personally by this insane act will struggle with the why's...We just need to be there for them, Amish,Mennonite,or English....I beg people to be open, talk to one another. Then and only then can true healing take place!
