I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. I AM SURE KELSEY IS LOOKING DOWN ON YOU NOW AND IS SO VERY PROUD OF THE WAY YOU ARE COPING WITH SUCH A TRAGIC LOSS. MY DAUGHTER MET KELSEY BRIEFLY AND HAD TOLD ME JUST HOW NICE AND WELCOMING SHE WAS TO HER. WE THINK OF KELSEY EVERY DAY. SHE OBVIOUSLY WAS THE KIND OF PERSON WHOM YOU DID NOT HAVE TO KNOW PERSONALLY TO LOVE HER. I SEE IN HER EYES, HER SPIRIT AND HER STRENGTH, AND MY HEART BREAKS FOR YOU. PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE SUPPORT OF EVERYONE AROUND YOU WEATHER WE KNOW YOU PERSONALLY OR NOT. AND YOU WILL SEE HER AGAIN. I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS , AND CONTINUE TO REMEMBER KELSEY EVERY DAY.

To the Smith family,

Missy you've stated in print that you will attend as many of the court proceedings as possible because you want Kelsey represented. A kind and determined reminder: if you ever need people in court or out on the streets in support of Kelsey all you need to do is put out the word and the ARMY will be there! As filled with sorrow as I am, I am also angry that this senseless act happened. I've wished a thousand times I had been in that parking lot and could have helped save Kelsey. This is a desparate call for ordinary citizens to get involved and not let cowards harm our children! It's such a helpless feeling not to be able to DO something to make this not a reality. I am a perfect stranger, though I helped search for Kelsey and feel like you all are part of me - if you need me in court or on a picket line, I'm there with my t-shirt and blue ribbon on! You all be strong, Kelsey didn't get to be who she was without your strength and teachings. God bless you and may each day ease the pain.

So many people hurt for you and for Kelsey when we heard she had been found. She is such a beautiful girl. She reminds me alot of my niece who also is 18 and is starting college this fall at LSU. (Believe it or not, she is majoring in pre-vet, too.) Please accept the help that peole offer and remember to take care of yourself so that you can continue to be loving parents to your other children.

Everywhere I looked yesterday I saw people in shades of light blue clothing. I don't think any of them intentionally wore the color, but my mind and my prayers were fixed on your family all day knowing Kelsey's memorial service was happening, so I noticed the color everywhere I went. The clear blue sky above the California coast lay like a blanket over my thoughts. What a beautiful girl. My heart, my prayers, my deep, deep grief for you, and my hope for healing are with you. There are no other words. God bless you and comfort you in this time of unmeasurable loss.

I can not begin to imagine your pain, but I do know that she will always be right beside you until you meet again in heaven. Kelsey had a smile from the first time I seen her on Tv that melted my heart, she was beautiful. It made me reach to my 7 year old daughter and pull her close to my heart. we prayed every night for her return. I know it was not the right outcome, but she is home and able to move on in heaven. It was very apparent that she made other around her happy and gleam with life. I want you to know that even though I dont know her or your family, I will let her life live through my daughter. I hope she can be half of what Kelsey brought to your lives. God Bless You and may the days till you meet your wonderful daughter again in heaven be filled with her wonderful memories and continue to live for her.

Best regards, Angie

Please know that my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. We often think these things happen elsewhere. I know I did. Kelsey's death will remind us all that our children are not as safe as we would hope. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

My heart goes out to you and your whole family for the loss of such a beautiful young lady. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless your family. It is hard to image ever losing a child and it goes to show that your child is never to old to check up on and stay in touch with just as your family had done. I am very thankful she was found as fast as she was so your family did not have to suffer and worry about where she was for very long. Just remember when your lonely just look to the sky and she will be looking down upon you. God bless
