Russell Yates, the husband of Andrea Yates who is accussed of killing their five children, spoke out on "60 Minutes" about his wife's alleged illness and how he feels doctors failed his family. Do you think Russell Yates violated the gag order and if so, what penalties should he face? Tell us what you think.

I feel that he did violate the order. He should not have taked about the case. He was blaming everyone else for what happened. He lived with his wife daily and could not detect that something was wrong.

When my husband and I were watching the interview Mr. Yates gave on national television, I couldn't believe it. I told my husband then that Mr. Yates was violating the gag order and I hope he gets punished for it! Doesn't he want his wife to have a fair and impartial jury?

Of course, a gag order means you don't talk about something. Did he talk about it?

The judge told him not to talk about the case - and he talked about the case....sounds like he violated the order to me....

Of course he violated the order! In true Russell Yates fashion, he did exactly what he wanted to do. I do hope the Judge rules against Russell Yates. He spoke directly to what the defense case will be. Chuck Rosenthal was much more careful in his remarks. I believe Ol' Chuck knew where to draw the line. Rusty was out for more donations to his wife's legal defense fund.

Of course he did. As far as I'm concerned, he's just as much to blame for those children's death as Andrea is. He saw she was in trouble, yet he continued to have her get pregnant time after time. He needs to be on trial for murder just as his wife is. If not that, at least some jail time for violating the gag order.

Yes, and he should go to jail for it.He not only violated the court order but he also spat in the faces of his children who are crying from their graves for justice.

yes i think she did also i think that she killed those kids intentionally and her husband was behind her 100% come on now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. first of all what woman is going to kill all 5 of her kids and say that she was suffering from a depression and chase every last one of them around the house and didn't snap or think about what she was doing when they were crying for their lives. Yeah she sick alright she needs to be locked under the jail. Her husband, oh he is such a fake. I know know human being that had all 5 of his kids murder by their mother and he's acting like it wasn't her fault.Hell i think they plotted this up for insurance money because the dad did work at NASA i'm pretty sure that every last one of those kids had insurance. Another thing the dad is too calm to say that all five of his kids are dead. He actually got on public television at their funerals and gave a speech. I saw no remorse in his eyes no real sadness. Maybe certain people react different to situation like that but come on you do the thinking all five of them and then some were running for their life come on man you tell me. She killed those kids period. cold blooded murderer

Sincerely, klove

I do feel Yates violated the gag order, but I also feel he should also be on trial right along with Andrea. He, no doubt, knew his wife was in trouble mentally and emotionally. Do I think Andrea was an abused wife? YES, I certainly do. Yates could have been more supportive of her and prevented additional pregnancies, hired her a Nanny, put the children in a Mother's Day Out program, given Andrea time for herself. He seems to be a selfish and domineering person who is pushing all the blame on Andrea when there was so much he could have done himself to prevent what happened.

People- I think that this topic of discussion and our opinions are to touchy to really talk about. Just being Russel Yates is hard enough and is just about Violating the Gag order as it is. Before we all get this man tried and hung over something that he did not do or cause, I think alot of us need to be quiet before we get him into trouble over something he did not do, nor knew about that was going to happen. I have known alot of people here in Clear Lake that have had wives who were alittle off their rockers as well just like Yates wife was, and they too had did what they could about the problem, but they too had to leave their wives at home alone with the kids and do just like Yates did when he went to work before this happen.

I dont think that it is right that some of you are saying he should go on trial too for this when he had and was doing the best thing he could do for his wifes problem. What more could he do other than get someone to watch her while he is at work, but this is not right to condem him as well for this. This man has lost so much and most likely will loose his wife too, and now some of you are wanting to put him away. I am ashamed.
