Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with the family and friends of Coach Hoeppner. He was truly a talented coach and a genuinely nice person. I'm sure his brave battle with cancer will be an inspiration for his players throughout their lives. May he rest in peace.

I believe that speak for all the fans of Indiana University football when I say that coah Hoeppner was an amazing person and his passion for football will live on through IU's football team. I never really had the chance to meet coach Hoeppner, but from watching all the football games, interviews and pieces about him I know he was a loving and caring person. To coach Hoeppners family, my family keeps you in their thoughts and prayers. God Bless You.

I was so excited to see Terry Hoeppner named IU's football coach. My "claim to fame" was that I had watched him play basketball with my cousin during his college career at Franklin college in the late 1960's, although I doubt he remembered a gangly, 12 y/o girl. I am so very sad to hear of his passing. My prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers to Coach Hep and his family. I'm not a big college football fan, but I found myself rooting for IU after he joined the team. He seemed to be a genuinely likeable guy, one I would be proud to have had teach my son. May you rest in peace.

Coach Terry Hoeppner reminded me of my dad. We lost him to cancer as well. I have been a Purdue fan my whole life, but with Coach Hoeppner at the helm I found myself cheering for IU. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with his family today and through the tough weeks ahead. May God give you strength and peace. Coach's grace through this time has been an inspiration to many. May the IU family find comfort at this time too. My thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

My husband and I have been IU Football Season ticket holders for 33 years. My heart is very heavy today. Coach Hep brought such Enthusiasm and was exactly what this program needed...and, the cool thing was, he WANTED to coach at IU. I think (and hope we still keep) The Walk, before each home game in front of Assembly Hall. That for me, will always be one of my fondest memories of Coach Hep. It was so neat to see him lead the team and the coaching staff down the steps over to Memorial Stadium. For any IU Fan who has never been to a football game in Memorial Stadium, I URGE you to buy season tickets this year. If you can't do that, please make sure that you at least purchase a ticket for the HOME opener on Saturday, September 1. To honor his memory, that's not too much to ask. WE NEED A SEA OF RED at that game...he would want us to DEFEND THE ROCK.
