Controversy surrounds a "Monday Night Football" skit involving "Desperate Housewives" actress Nicollette Sheridan and Philadelphia Eagles receiver Terrell Owens. ABC has apologized for the racy skit and the FCC is investigating. Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy called the skit racially offensive because it plays off the stereotypes of black athletes. What are your thoughts on the situation?

Yes, it was raunchy and I agree with Tony Dungy's comments (what a class A guy he is.) It's unfortunate that by the time every major media outlet showed the darn thing a gazillion more times, a gazillion more kids saw it, a gazillion more times. It seems our culture is turning into a trash machine. Garbage in, garbage out.

It was tame for typical evening TV,but I can understand why it was inappropriate to show..Especially when it was FAMILY hours for TV viewing around the Rockies and further west...I believe that a female sports columnist for the USA TODAY newspaper hit the nail right on the head when she suggested that race possibly played an issue as far as people being offended by the sight of a scantily clad beautiful and desirable white such as Nicolette Sheridan tempting, disrobing and jumping into the arms of a successful, handsome, controversial black man such as the likes of Terrell Owens??!!??

I am a big Ton Dungy fan but I disagree that everything comes down to race. I didn't like the skit because they used Terrel Owens and I have heard all of his remarks about "the man" holding him down because he can't celebrate. Why doesn't Tony comment on that? I detest the celebrations that take place by anyone, including our Colts after a touchdown. I do my job every day as well or better than they do theirs because that is what I get paid to do. My celebration is the pay check each week. Let's start looking at each other as men and women, not white or black!
Best Regards, Roy

Why does everything have to be about race. That is why we can't seem to get past it because someone keeps bringing it up.

I have only one questions, why a black player and not a white one? It was racial. A white man would have done just as well. This was sterotypical, a black man is willing to sell his soul for the opportunity to be with a white women, even forget his responsibilities to his job.

I would just like to say that it is obvious to me that Coach Dungy has the racist problem and the problem with football players. If he can look at this skit and see nothing else but racism and catagorizing of football players then he has the problem. I myself did not see a problem with it. So it was a little sexy, isn't everything now days. It was not like they actually showed anything but her back and shoulders.BIG DEAL. People need to quit looking at everything just to find something wrong. just sit back and relax for once and be entertained. That is the whole problem with the world now days. It is not the movies or the music or sexy comercials, it is the fact that people can not simply watch something and see it as entertainment. People are watching these things for something to complain about.
Thank You, American Citizen

Although the skit was inappropriate in the fact that children could be watching, I don't see how it was a race issue at all. Perhaps Dungy has way too much time on his hands.

I will agree that the skit was inappropriate but not becasue of racist issues. The race issue did not even cross my mind, I am proud to say, nor did the Kobe Bryant issue. Lets not take opportunities to use poor taste and turn it into something it isn't. I almost applaud ABC for not making race the issue. It was sex, nothing else. Inappropriate, yes, but nothing more. Come on Coach, get off the race card. I have always respected Coach Dungy for his family oriented perception but I am disappointed that he used this opportunity to display this unusual ignorance. Lets get back on the track of trying to decrease racism and not use situations inappropriately to throw it in the limelight. Continuing to do such things will definately lead to the failure of eliminating racism.
