The Avon Zoning Board voted 4-1 to allow a business owner to keep his sign in front of "The Bad Ass Coffee Company." Around 1,000 people signed a petition to have it removed. What do you think? Should the sign be removed?

I don't understand how the general populous can be so oblivious to the psychology of children, or people in general. You people need to realize that the word ass is only vulgur because of the upsrise our culture produces. WE CREATE VULGARITY IN OUR OWN CULTURE! If you drive by the sign and make a big deal of it, you're teaching your child to make a big deal out of it. *Phyxius* is a clear example of raising your child the wrong way. Sheltered children often grow up having no idea how to live on their own because their parents raised them, metaphorically, in their own world. If people, all together, would just stop making a big deal of petty things such as the word ass, and start worrying about things of imporance such as global warming or America's inablility to care, children would learn to fret about things they can help change rather than complain about the inevitable. Children are trying to compensate their lack of understanding for the world with rebellion, hence when children swear, smoke, et cetera. TALK to your kids about the ways of the world, don't hid them from them. To quotw *dooncat* "make something of this world other than a problem."... and to *kai28*, comfort is not a right given by the government. stop worrying about the swearing and you wont be uncomfortable or offended, and vulgur language is, indeed, part of speech. The government protects our freedom of speech, you have to worry about your own mental stability.

Yes sir, that is some real bad donkey coffee there serving up there. Best I've ever had, it gives you a real kick in the BUTT! I hope I didn't offend anyone. Is butt a word that might send me to the devil? I hope my kids never drink coffee, its sound like a real bad thing. Do they serve coffee in strip joints?

I think it is up to the owner of the store what to name his business, think about it people this is supposed to be a free country and this is a freedom of speech we are talking about. I do not see anything wrong with this sign. just don't look at it if you do not like it no one is making you

If one maniacle person can create such a national controversy with his kid being "forced" to listen to the word God in school why can't the majority of those offended by the inappropriate use of the word ass in this context also be offended and successful in requiring the store owner,Strip Center owner and town board to change the requirments for offensive signage with this tenant? Who's the real ass here?

The sign should be taken DOWN! The sign is offensive and obscene. Those people who voted for the sign and you know who you are will one day have to meet your maker and when you do I sure am glad I am not in your shoes. Repent now.

The owners of the store are the ones with the attitude, there fore that is where they get their name.

I hope you are all proud now that we will have a bunch of elementary - high school age children going around repeating this obscene word.

I say lets boycott!

Regardless of the meaning of the word "ass" in the sign, it's in poor taste, and one might be inclined to think as much of the product inside the building.
