On Sunday, March 18, 2007, from 5 until 8p.m., Hamilton Beverage will be hosting the Special Sports Food and Wine Fest. This very special evening will be held at The Mansion at Oak Hill and will benefit the Special Sports Program of the Carmel Dads? Club. The program provides a positive sports experience for mentally and/or physically challenged people, ages 5 and up, throughout central Indiana.

Food from eight area restaurants will be served and sixty fine wines will be available for sampling from Hamilton Beverage. Silent and live auctions will occur during the evening featuring items such as: sports memorabilia, jewelry, wine, etc. Tickets are $40 per person in advance, available through either Hamilton Beverage or the Carmel Dads? Boating Skills and Seamanship Courses Offered in Indianapolis in February and March of 2007 Many boating safety courses are offered throughout the country for all types of recreational boaters, and for boaters of all ages. Qualified organizations, such as the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, offer these courses.

Division One, of The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, in Indianapolis is offering the Boating Skills and Seamanship (BS&S) course February through March. It is a comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and the novice power boater. The course consists of six required two-hour lessons providing up-to-date knowledge for handling boats in all conditions. Successful completion of this course may result in lower insurance rates for your boat. Also, the knowledge from this course could one day save your life, or that of another!

The course is being offered at two different locations in Indianapolis. They are:

Location 1: 6215 East 38th Street, Indianapolis next to Boatland on the south side of 38th Basic six lesson course occurs on March, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 26, with the final exam given on March 28th. All BS&S classes run from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. For information contact Dee Hendrickson at (317) 823-1075 or email bobdee@indy.net

Location 2: American Legion Post at 5379 N. College Ave., Broad Ripple, Indianapolis. Basic six lesson course occurs on Feb. 27th and March, 1, 6, 8, 13, and 15, with the final exam given on March 20th. All BS&S classes run from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. Cost: Although the classes are free, the textbook is $25.00 and can be shared by a couple taking the course, and is yours to keep. Each student must also buy a workbook at $5.00 each.

Objective: Successful completion of the first six lessons of the course earns the student a certificate from the United States Coast Guard, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Additional courses may also be available on more advanced topics.

A benefit night for Craine House will be held at Panera Bread Cafe, 5020 E. 82nd St., in Castleton on Monday, March 5th from 5-9pm. 15% of all food and drinks purchased during that time will go to benefit the women and children of Craine House.
