Republicans have taken control of Indianapolis government, with Greg Ballard winning the mayoral race and the GOP taking control of the City-County Council. What do you think about the seismic shift in the power base of Indianapolis government?

I don't see much change. The new administration looks like it also wants to WASTE tax money on a new walking trail.

The criterion on whether tax money is wasted should not be whether a project has public support. It should depend on whether the project is necessary enough to justify taking someone's house away.

That's what they do if you don't poay your taxes.

... Life is a dirty trick, but government is a dirtier one....

I am not only surprised, but impressed. Finally, the people realize that they have control. We dictate who stays and who goes. I was not happy with the current management of our political system, and it appears I was not alone. I hope that this sends a message to our Indianapolis Government, "You work for us"!

I just wish that more people can join together on other things. But, we all have to be on 1 page or it doesn't work. The masses will dictate on what is policy and what is not. Starbucks in now feeling the squeeze, people are not buying their coffee because it is just too expensive. You either make this work for the people or you go out of business!

We have to remember that most polls (but not real elections) are inherently biased toward Democrats. This is because many conservatives are too busy to take the time to answer the survey.

I wish more people were like those in Indianapolis. My stupid community voted for government subsidies for useless artists.

I have to ask.....Where is 6 News getting it's polling results? Before the election, I think every poll reported had Peterson ahead. Why was News 6 blindsided by Ballard winning?

Just My Opinion

I hope the election results sends a message to all politicians that they are accountable. I think what the CCC did with the income tax amidst the property tax fiasco was the key. I'm happy the voters responded and I would be just as happy if the shift went from republicans to democrats if the republicans showed such disregard for the taxpayers and voters.

The Democraps got exactly what they deserved. Make us pay more taxes and see what that gets you? You dared us to vote you out and we did. HAAAHAAA
