Please accept my sincere condolences to entire Laird family. I did not know him or his family but this tragedy has really touched my heart and has made a lot of people realize how precious life is and that it can end at any minute..My thoughts go out to Officer Laird's wife and daughter and I hope they can take comfort in this..most of the people did not know him or have never heard his name before but they will never forget him ever... including myself. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Officer Laird. I didn't know him or his family but I work for a police department and my husband is a firefighter so it has been an emotional week for all. It did my heart good to see officers from all agencies, firefighters and the communities pull together during this awful tragedy. God Bless, be safe, and take care of each other!

Being a wife of an IPD officer and a mother of a 7 and 4 year old, my heart goes out to The Laird Family. We always know the possibilities our officers take each day. It's much harder to accept the reality of it.God Bless you, Jennifer and Kaylee. You are in our hearts. May God take care of you at the time. Love, The Riggs Family

To the Laird family: Please know that you are in my prayers. God is still on the throne and prayer changes people. Remember, as David did in the Psalms, to look to the hills from whence cometh your help. Your help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. Indianapolis is a better place because of Officer Jake Laird and all of the officers who serve and protect our city.
God Bless, The Holcombs

May God Bless Officer Laird's family and friends. May God Bless the officers that were injured and let them have a speed recovery. May God Bless all of the Officers that protect and serve us each and everyday. May god bring them home to their loved ones safe and sound. My deepest sympathy to the Laird family and IPD South district.
