Russell Yates, the husband of Andrea Yates who is accussed of killing their five children, spoke out on "60 Minutes" about his wife's alleged illness and how he feels doctors failed his family. Do you think Russell Yates violated the gag order and if so, what penalties should he face? Tell us what you think.

There is a new book out on the Yates family and in the front is the timeline of what happened in that family as far as mental episodes. She cut her wrists after the second child. I believe it was his responsibility to say no more children. He should have protected the exsisting children from anymore depression. I do not understand why he is not charged with some sort of negligence at least. A woman is expected to protect her kids with her life and there are cases in the past to prove this, men have responsibilities to their families too. Gag order? He violated worse than that long before the trial.

My opinion is I don't care what Rusty says now he has a plan to get as much money as he can from the medical field so he can divorce and remarry and we all go down this road again with his next kids is this what we want I don't think so! We should all stand and tell Mr. Yates you are just as guilty try him with the other two kids they do have a voice if we let them, they had a life too. He made the comment that the kids knew Mommy was sick so why didn't he save them . Please if any one reads this give these kids a voice don't let them go this easily he is also responsible he was their dad he also gave them life and he helped give them DEATH.

Yes, I think he did....I think that the state ought to go after him...Leaving her alone with the children, her home schooling these children in HER frame of mind...Something is funny in this case with him....He is a control freak......She didn't have a chance with him...She needed help...but I do believe in the verdict...she knew to call 911 and her husband...

yes, I do believe that he did. ALso I feel like he should also be responsible for the deaths of his children as well. Yates KNEW the conistion that his wife was in but he still keep getting her preganant, he left left her alone with the children.

Gag order or not this man violated his responsibility as a parent, and Husband. This man is a disgrace to our society. He is to blame for what is wife has done. He knew that his wife had an illness that could not be cured 100%. He knew that she would one day snap, and do something to someone. They should charge him for child endangerment. In my opinion this man took advantage of her illness, maybe even put her up to it. I have 4 children of my own, and I know darn well that my husband would never leave my children alone with me, if he knew that I had a mental illness, he would protect our family. JUST A CONCERNED MOTHER AND WIFE EXPRESSING HER OPINION!

I don't believe he violated the gag order, because all the information given by him was already public knowledge. However, I do believe he violated the law in that he should be tried for "child endangerment". After reading his testamony, I don't think Andrea was the only crazy in that household. Neither of them qualify as responsible parents. Neither should have been able to have children. They are definately a prime example of why people should have to get licenses to have children in the same way as a license is required to get married.

Yes, it may get all of any Gag Orders, because Yates should pay it or buy it!
