The Harris County District Attorney said that he will push for the death penalty in the Andrea Yates case. Do you think she should be given the death penalty, if convicted? Tell us what you think.

I HAVE AGREE WITH LORIBELL, THAT WOULD BE TO EASY FOR HER TO BE KILLED SHE SHOULD SPEND THE TIME IN JAIL AND ALSO GET HELP BECAUSE SHE WAS INGNORED BY HER FAMILY, OR MAYBE HER FAMILY HAD NO IDEAL HOW SHE WAS FEELING OR THINKING REMBER NOT ONE PERSON CAN READ MINDS NOR FEEL THE SAME HELPLESSNESS THAT SOMEONE CARRYS, BUT THEN AGAIN WHY HELP SOME ONE IF THEY ARE NEVER GOING TO GET OUT????? GOD BLESS

I have a solution to all the people that choose to harm another person. Instead of putting her to death along with the rest of the maniacs on Death Row, They should be put in cages like animals and used as guinnea pigs for experiments such as a cure for cancer or other deadly diseases. This way they can give back to society what they took away, "Life." It sounds harsh in a way but at least before they are put in the chair they can give society back what they had taken away. After some sort of cure is established? Do whatever you want to them.
Sincerely, A 100% true American

I feel that anyone who kills for no reason should be made to pay the ultimate price as well. A woman who kills here own children leaves no doubt that we as a socity should enforce the usage of the death penality

There are so many that should be held responsible for Andrea Yates crime, not only her over bearing husband, but her mother, her brother and sister, her doctors and her close friends and neighbors who know of all this with her going on and no one doing a thing. They should all be same convicted of the death of the 5 children in question

she is a monster, not a human being. she deserves to die underwater, just like her babies. her husband has some loose marbles himself to keep defending the murderer or his kids. he should be tried for child endangerment......he left those kids with someone whom he descbibed as "having psychosis and seeing imaginary things that weren't there". Hello, somebody? Depression, psychosis, post-pardom depression, split personality, crazy, whatever you want to call it, makes NO EXCUSE for what she did. Russel, stop blaming everyone buy your wife, and don't even try to say it's society's fault because the "System" failed your ailing wife. We don't feel sorry for her......the only thing we feel sorry for is that she's still alive. You are sick yourself and a disgusting representation of an American man...one who cannot even protect his own family.

Now i am glad that she was found guilty because i believe that she knew what she was doing the whole time. Their is no doubt in my mind. But i feel kind of mixed on this subject. Now that she has 40 yers in prison, she has to live with the pain of knowing that she had killed her children and that i hope she does. In the other hand she does derserve to get the death sentence. She did'nt just kill 1 or 2, ahe killed 5. That makes me sad that someone could do that. But to be honest, I would like to see her recieve that death penalty. I think she has no reason to live.

This woman was and is SICK IN THE HEAD. So what? Lots of people are, but that is NO EXCUSE for killing her 5 babies. If she was able to act upon her plot to drown her kids by holding them by their feet upside down w/their heads underwater, this tells me she was able to rationalize the best and quickest way to kill them. She PLANNED this, crazy or not. Therefore, she should PAY, crazy or not. Her husband is a loony-tune himself, siding w/his supposedly "Sick" wife. First he says she was only depressed and the family didn't really know how serious it was. Then, he says she had periods of psychosis and saw imaginary things. Ummmmmmmmm, excuse me, but it seems to me that he cares more about his alive crazy wife than his dead 5 babies that she got rid of. He should be in jail himself. I think that someone should chase her around the house and hold her up by her feet w/her head underwater in a bathtub filled with fecal matter, just like she did to those angels! If she's as sick as the family claims, why the heck didn't they take is as seriously as they claim it was? How come she didn't succeed in killing herself? Sucidal people kill themselves, not others. She IS responsible, mental illness is no excuse. Where does it stop? Hey, I have bad days, too and so do the rest of the people on this planet. How about we all get rid of our kids in frustration, and then blame it on the "voices in our heads?" SHE DOES NOT DESERVE TO TAKE ANOTHER BREATH. HER BABIES DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE. THEY'RE ANGELS NOW. WATCH OVER THEM, LORD JESUS!
