I have a question that you may have answered already but with a 2 year old, I may have missed the answer. What about is you computer crashes? Can information still be retreived?

Even better (and cheaper) than the software, is a nice sharp ICE PICK and a real heavy hammer. WHAM! right through the case, the platters, etc! No one will be able to read THAT data!
