In sallisaw at EZ Mart $2.79. Also, at Wal-Mart $2.76. Other places in town at much as 15 cents a gallon higher. Figure that.

Gas prices at the pump have absolutely nothing to do with supply and demand. There is no market decision involved with this at all. Ever notice how ALL stations, regardless of affiliation, have pretty much the same price? There is no "market" factor at all.

It is obvious that demand does not cause gas prices to rise: it is GREED that does. A good place to start in lowering prices is the too high taxes. That too is greed driven. Several years ago we had Price Control on telephone service. That can be done today with gasoline and would be welcomed by everyone except the greed barons.

I find it hard to believe that the pipeline carrying the fuel to Rogers is the difference. I'm sure that different pipelines have different costs associated with them due to distance, maintenance, etc.
If they want us to believe what they are saying, then they can also explain why the fuel from Rogers is trucked to Missouri stations also. Those stations are quite a bit less expensive than NWA. The fuel tax in NWA is 4.5 cents higher than Missouri. That doesn't account for the entire cost different.

The explanation of gas price differences seems to be targeting those who may not have friends who live in other areas and will just buy any old reason. The very fact is, that my friends in Ft. Smith were paying 20 cents less per gallon last week than we were in NWA, Fay/Rog/Bent/BelV. If you watch carefully, now that the AR Atty G. is finally commencing an investigation, gas prices will mysteriously start to drop and we will be fed some sort of false rhetoric as to why that is happening. The truth is, we are victims of price gouging up here and I don't see the reason for remaining complacent until prices get this high.

If gas is cheaper in Little Rock and they get their gas from the gulf and ours in Northwest Arkansas is comming from somewhere else and its higher, where is Missouri getting their gas it's always cheaper than Arkansas? So it sounds like a bunch of BS they are trying to get us to believe.

It's hard for me to understand how our goverment would expect us to beleive the reason for the high prices at the pumps is 'cause of refinerys problems..when billions are still being made by them..and isn't it funny the way the problems always happens during the summer months or holidays..Just more lies on top of other lies..instead of laying back and doing nothing...or not getting gas for one day..what we all should do is have a sit out..we should pick a day to just stay home...don't go to work..don't go shopping...Just stay at home and let them see what it would be like if it wasn't for people like us..until we take a stand..our goverment will continue to treat us like we are stupid..

I make my own biodiesel and have been since February. My last batch cost me about $0.85/gallon and that includes $0.185/gal of Arkansas State diesel fuel tax. This is how I beat high fuel prices at the pump.
Luther, I make my own fuel for less than $1/gallon.
