I followed this story very closely from the very beginning and became very depressed with the outcome. Can somebody tell me how the memorial for Brian went and how many people attended. I am so sad for the families and so troubled to see such wonderful men that had to leave this earth so early. I am still having a hard time getting over this.

I attended the memorial for Brian this past week...wonderful. He was such a terrific guy...I'll miss his sense of humor. I met him at Performance Playground four years ago and considered him a good friend of mine. I would always walk in and say, "What up B!"...I miss saying that.
The day I found out about him missing was the day after my birthday. Me and a number of the guys from the gym went out on the town to celebrate. I invited Brian of course, but he told me he already had plans to go on this climb on Mt. Hood. I told him I would catch up with him when he returned (I invited him to a Mavs game the following week). Never thought this would happen. I haven't been the same since.
I was so happy to see all the well-wishers out there. He left such a great legacy...a man of unyielding character and integrity. My heart goes out to his family and friends...there are so many.
Miss you B!!!

I am having a hard time moving on. I want to climb Mt. Hood and find them regardless. They need to come home. We all need to know the final story...it cannot end here. Help me understand the events. Give me closure.

HI, I AM NEW TO THIS DISCUSSION. I HOWEVER, AM JUST HERE BECAUSE I LOST CONTACT WITH THE NEWS AND I HAVE BEEN WONDERING HOW THE FAMILIES ARE HOLDING UP. WHEN TRAJEDY COMES LIKE THIS, I REALLY DONT KNOW HOW TO JUSTIFY IN MY HEAD WHY THINGS HAPPEN. I FIGURE AND AFTER READING A LITTLE ABOUT THESE MEN, THEY WERE GOOD PEOPLE HERE ON EARTH, SOMETIMES GOOD PEOPLE ON EARTH GET CALLED TO HELP OTHERS ELSE WHERE. MAYBE THATS WHERE THESE MEN ARE. THEY ARE NEEDED ELSEWHERE, AND THEY HAD TO GO. I AM SORRY FOR THE FAMILIES WHO SUFFERED THIS HORRIFIC LOSS. AND I OFFER KIND THOUGHTS TO HELP YOU MOVE ON.

I live in Portland, Oregon and I was stuck to the TV news for the entire time, even up until Kelly James' funeral. I just want these familes to know that there are so many people out here that do care even though we don't know you, we are human and we have a heart. I still pray that both the Hall and Cook familes have some closure maybe come spring time. I know it won't make it any easier to have their loved ones gone, but maybe some closure would help them. My heart also goes out to the James family and I want to say to Karen James that I have never seen such a strong woman as she held herself so together during the interview with Katie Couric, I have never cried so hard. Karen, your family is so lucky to have you in their lives, stay strong because no, "your journey isn't over, it's just been put on hold". To the Hall and Cook family, my prayers are with you now and always.

I am saddened and angry by the cruel and inconsiderate comments made by hedoiidue and lonewolf. They are thoughless individuals who obviously know nothing about Brian and his 2 friends. Brian was a special guy, one in a million. He was a loving, caring, thoughtful man, who embraced life and brought joy to all who new him. We love him and will miss him dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of Brian, Kelly and Nikko. Linda & Dave

I would agree! I've had them all on my mind this whole Christmas season and the news all the sudden just left us all hanging.
My heart goes out to all of the families and friends of these great people. I wish you all peace and joy in the new year.
God Bless you all!
