The state Supreme Court ruled in 2000 that lawmakers had made a series of mistakes that canceled a state law requiring mandatory parole for sex offenders who committed their crimes between 1993 and 1998.

The decision affects 1,500 convicted sex offenders who are set to be released from prison or parole.

What are your thoughts, feelings or concerns about this development?

I don't know what the mistakes are, but if the A.C.L.U., or whoever it is, took as good a care of everybody, as good as they do child molesters, we all would be better off. Just unfortunate they discriminate sometimes on who they choose to protect and defend.Gotta wonder who THOSE A.C.L.U. people really are. Maybe they can get my felon friend a better job? Na. He is not a socialistic molester. Maybe they won't not.

sincerly, Rainman

I am very pleased that Ken Salazar is pushing to have this information released to the public without cost. I understand that budgets are tight, but this issue to far too important to the safety of our children than recouping a few extra dollars. Thank you Mr. Salazar.

I am a single mother of 3 girls. One of my daughters was molested at the age of two by a man that was never convicted. I am very angry that the release took place. I understand the reasons for the releases, but that doesn't make it better for me or my girls. As a parent, I try to protect my children from the "boogy man" and monsters in the closet. As a parent I chase away their nightmares and hug them when someone has done something wrong to them. This is one more fear now that my kids are going to have to go through with the release of sex offenders. I am not happy that this is taking place. I will be protective of my children. And I will check my neighborhood records. I will not be mean and point them out, I will not threaten them or allow my children to make threats to them. But I will teach my children to stay away with the utmost care to their fragile minds. Do not talk to strangers and never ever go with them, no matter what they tell you.

Thank you for your time...

the public is at risk due to mistakes by colorado legislators who wrote the law so that it allowed misinterpretation. As a parent of 2 kids, I can't imagine having a reported sexual predator living in our neighborhood and treating him equally as I would my other neighbors. It would be interesting to see how fast the same politicians would work in putting sexual predators away if they lived in there neighborhood. Thanks Abe.

As a person in a position of trust with kids and have kids of my own I am terrified to think what could happen with these people on the loose. I will arm my oldest daughter with mace. I fully understand people have lives to live and I am not prejudice but there should have been some thought on reintroducing offenders back into the community.Ever stop to think some of these people may be angry and want to strike out no matter what the cost?

Thanks, Trina
