Amendment 59 would eliminate all future tax rebates and instead put that money in the state education fund, for Pre-K-12, creating an educational savings account.

Supporters said this is a guaranteed, permanent source of funding that protects education from budget cuts if the economy is struggling. Supporters say it creates funds by freeing up money within the general fund for other necessary programs, and provides children with the skills they need for jobs in the future.

Opponents said this will eliminate all future taxpayer rebates, will allow existing education monies to be used for other programs, and it will take money that is used to maintain the state's buildings away -- causing the infrastructure to deteriorate.

How will you vote on Amendment 49?

Why are liberals insistant on taking every penny from us? I suggest the government just use the money it already gets from us. Stop being greedy!

Vote NO.

For what it's worth,

Jason

Yet another amendment that, in effect, raises our taxes.

For what it's worth,

Jason
