So did you go to a caucus in Colorado on Super Tuesday?
Why or why not?
If you did, tell us about your experience and what you think of the entire process. Was it fun? Was it crazy? Was it confusing? Was it what you expected?

I attended my neighborhood caucus (democrat) and it was a zoo! There was no organization to the process and I don't know how we got anything done. I ended up deing chosen as a county delegate and the county caucus was just as bad with the added bonus of 10 X the crowd. I am not sure if I'll attend again, I just might wait for the primaries.

i find it interesting that britlandco enjoyed the experience at overland. i was there also, and i found it to be frustrating beyond all reasonable comprehension. no parking, no organization, no room to move, never mind participate in the type of community interaction that the party heads would have us believe caucuses are all about. caucuses may be the way to go in smaller communities, but in a large urban area, they simply are not feasible. i would venture to say that for many of us for whom this was a first experience, it was also a last.

I am a senor citizen and wanted to attend the caucus but am unable to drive after dark. I believe a primary system would have resulted in a much higher turnout and would allow many others like myself to get out and vote.

I went to a Republican caucus and we had a great turn-out. It was very orderly---no long lines, good parking, no poor conduct, and very good discussions. We got a lot of good voting and business completed.

I did go last night. And I am of the very strong opinion, that given the various promises by the cantidates (and I have reviewed every issue with every contestant) if Hillary is voted President, she will divide the government and very little will be done over the next 4 years. If McCain is elected, we will have at least 4 more years of Bush. So we are left with Obama. Now something which must be considered is that in states which are traditionally Republican, Obama won hands down. This shows that he would be a unifying force. He alone can bring the side together and get great things done. In my opinion, he is our only hope.

Well I went to Alameda High school in Lakewood and it was packed and there was no parking but they really made it work out. First time to a caucus ever and I think they were not expecting such a turn out. Also people in my precinct were older people and didn't like the turn out of all the young voters.

Well the results are in: Super Turnout, Long Lines, No Parking, Ran Out of Ballots, crowded rooms etc. But in fact: of nearly 3 million registered Colorado voters, about 176,000 showed up, just over 6%. This can hardly be considered a successful democratic process. imho
Best regards

I went to the Caucus at Overland High School last night. It was packed with some 2000 people in a very small room.
I had an exciting time! It was fun to see all my neighbors when I finally found my precinct, which also had a big turnout.
I was surprised that it was more of a rally. Voters were chanting for Obama. I was expecting more order. The process seemed very chaotic with head counts in a crowded room and they ran out of sign in sheets! I was surprised to see that other state caucuses had ballots, scanners, voting machines etc. I felt votes in this confusion would surely be missed in Colorado.
I very much enjoyed the process anyway!

i too had to miss out on the caucus due to the restrictive time slot. i hope they will look at revamping colorados primary process so that all voices have an opportunity to be heard and counted.

I went to the democratic caucus at East High School. I was astounded by the crowds. It's good to see that people are excited about this election.
With that said, I do we need to bring back our primary so that more people have the chance to vote.
Caucuses are kind of annoying. Alot of standing around while people try to figure out what to do next.
