A Catholic priest facing an indecent exposure charge after police said he went jogging in the nude about an hour before sunrise was placed on administrative leave Thursday. If found guilty he could be forced to register as a sex offender.

What do you think about this?

I am a cleaning service that cleaned the Frederick Catholic Rectory a few years ago, the priest there was this quy and myself, (owner) and another employee witnessed a very foul homeosexual statue in his bedroom that he put their for us to see after we did the inspection of the rectory area to be cleaned by his secretary. He knew we would see it and when we heard there was a Frederick priest being arrested for nudity we knew it must be him. And sure enough it was. This is not the first time he has done something. People just don't like talking about it. Just as I won't put my business name or anything to do with this in this notice. I wanted to let the other discussion readers know that he totally shocked the holy hell out of me and my employee and he knew he did. Shame on him. I have told the Archdiose about this matter already. I do not want anything but just to have him removed.

JOY!

Jean, Im a Devote Catholic, but what this guy did was wrong and is obviously not in his right mind. Putting his priesthood aside, this is odd behavior for anyone. If the priest can not handle his vow of celibacy he should step down. As Jesus says "you cant serve 2 masters." He cant be a priest and be a slave to carnal wants. This guy obviously wanted people to see him in his glory, priest or not. As stated in the Catholic Canon that would be considered an improper use of his reproductive faculty.

I do agree that we should look at him as an individual and not as the Church, because it is the man that does the deed and not the church. I will defend the Church but not the behavior of a man.

I think this man is messed up in the head no doubt, having said that he has not committed serious enough of an offence to warrant a sex offender status or label. anyone who disagrees with the second part of my comment is more messed up in the head than the priest. AND YOU KNOW DIS MAN

Sex offender? My foot! His was certainly not the best judgment with regard to time and place for being nude. But if being seen naked by people of any age is a crime, then we'd better close down public gym and swimming pool locker rooms, and ask the UN to ban nudity that is common on many beaches in other countries.

My guess is that if he were an attractive person, especially a woman, this wouldn't be the same news story that it is.

The human body is not indecent by itself no matter who can see it. It is not indecent when seen by lovers, doctors, lockerroom showerers or TSA screeners.

The reactions of people when they meet a nude stranger vary considerably, perhaps fear perhaps amusement.

At least some negative reaction derives from religion{s) with different religions weighing in at different levels of intolerance. "Garden of Eden" religions mention hiding nakedness and "shame". In other religions nudity is part of the ritual sets and is encouraged.

If naked is indecent then family nudity is not educational but rather it is child abuse. We think we need to write laws, I guess. When laws are inconsistent they become capricious and subjective. I have no respect for those who impose regulations based on religions, anyway.

Mr. priest may have issues, of course, but I don't find jogging nude to be indecent exposure. Bitten by his own philosophy, I think. Irony.

I would not classify him as a sex offender just because he was walking at 4 am naked. Where has our common sense gone as a society!? When has it become illegal to walk around naked in our own home or shave, fix hair, etc. before getting dressed? How many of us have gone "skinny dippin" in the wee hours of the morning in our pools and hot tubs? When I was at Girl Scout camp we got ready naked in the showers. The boys get ready in a community shower in the gym or Boy Scout Camp. Is this cause to be labeled as a sex offender? I think that we are going way overboard on labeling people as sex offenders.

When will the Church allow women priests? How many examples of oddballs and perverts are required before we are allowed an opportunity?

Apparently the very limited pool of men interested in the priesthood (some wonderful but others being oddballs like this guy, racist loudmouths like Pfleger in Chicago, and a fair share of uninspiring homilists) are still more desirable. It may finally be time for me to investigate other Christian branches of the Church.

Respectfully- Susan

not to offend any of you, but if he wants to jog in the nude who's to stop him?

remember that this country was founded on the premises that every person has certain unalienable rights. among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. that said, who is to stop this man when jogging in the nude makes him happy?

let it be.

If he had jogged through a flower show, would he have got a prize for the best dried arrangement?

Nude jogging, even for me ( Wink ) would be painful as heck; why anybody would do that is beyond me.

I do recall, however, when "streaking" was popular in the 1970's.... although I never had the chutzpah to do it. Maybe I figured people would laugh AT me rather than WITH me.

The guy's case should, as a final insult, be handled in Small Claims Court.
