God gave you a challenge. That challenge wasn't to deny yourself but to love yourself and live your life with dignity and courage...and in doing so..hopefully change some minds of those people who would have you deny yourself.

Haggard will never be where you are. Hiding his homosexual tendencies was the least of Haggard's lies. But it is the root of his problem. He found acceptance from people because he lied. That acceptance became his reward for lying...so he started lying more and more to get more acceptance.

As he became more successful in the evangelical industry (and yes, that is what it is) he became brazen and cocky in his ability to deceive people. He started taking greater risks because he believed that he could always pull the wool of the eye's of his flock and that they would believe everything he said.

Haggard has yet to fully admit, acknowledge or apologize for all the lies he has told. He and his church have done a truly artful job of "handling" this whole thing to make it go away quickly. This alone should be proof how politically oriented and motivated and many churches have become. They didn't care about finding the truth. They care about damage control and their own image and ability to operate.

Haggard is a very weak man and he failed God. He did not have the courage to accept his sexuality which was given to him by God. He denied it in order to gain the acceptance and favors of others who arrogantly and mistakenly think they have a duty to pre-judge their fellow man on God's behalf.

Where was/is your empathy for the gay couples and their families that this pastor, his family and his entire congregation have been maligning, villifying, excluding, banning, etc?

As in each discussion you attempt to engage in, you are totally full of incorrect ASSumptions. In this case, you claim that in the absence of evidence to the contrary, that your opponant must be guilty. Garbage in, garbage out. spitting...

While I understand this his children are innocent in this whole matter and I do have empathy for them, it gauls me that people should think any of us should care about Haggard or his wife.

Again the anger management course might be of value. Who cares what gauls you? Where I come from, the golden rule applies to all, not just your aligned few.

People like Haggard and James Dobson are laying the groundwork for the next civil war in America. The war between people who believe America is for all of us and the zealots who believe that it's just for them.
