Several Colorado schools have banned students from bringing in flags or wearing anything with flags on it as a way to diffuse tensions on campus as the country debates immigration reform.
The ban includes all flags -- whether they are Mexican flags or American flags.
School officials say this is for the student's safety, that they are just trying to create ideal learning environment free from disruption.
What do you think of the ban? Should schools ban all flags? Is it fair to ban one but not the other?

That is ridiculous. Has this country forgotten how to be patriotic? Do we want our children to be taught how to disrespect the ideals that America was founded on? What has become of us as a nation? I am embarrassed to even talk about taking the flag out of schools.
Best regards,

Of Course NOt! This is our soil. This is ridiculous to ban our flag to please others from other countries. What has become of our country? Seems we have to Please the whole world. Should have a sign or on citizenship papers or passport have any one entering our country to abide by our laws. And remind them this is a country and must respect our flag our language. English is our dominant language. Stop pleasing the world. Respect us. It is riduclous to ban our flag; especially while we are at war. What do we tell our children, when they ask "My daddy is at war; he tells me he is sacraficing his life for our country, RED-white-blue colors do not run". This is STUPID TO BEND DOWN FOR OTHERS. THIS IS Our FLAG ONLY OUR FLAG SHOULD STAND ON OUR SOIl. NO OTHER. I AM A PROUD AMERICAN I LOVE OLD GLORY!

This is America which bears the US flag. I can understand banning our flag on foreign soil but not here.
It stands for everything that makes this country what it is. To ban it sends a message that our very freedoms are at risk in our own country.

I believe American flags should be allowed in schools. As long as you are in American, you respect our values, laws, and traditions. If you can't handle that, maybe you don't belong here.

When this does become a reality, due to the fact we are becoming a one world government, then I will know that all the men and women who fought and died for this country from the revolutionary war upto now, then I am convinced that they died in vain!!!!!. Yes I have lost faith in this country, the courts are taking God and Christ out of public places, schools, libraries even memorial parks that disply crosses and this is the main reason why this country has the problems it has, it has turned away, but as for the flag it is begiining to come down. I have even begun drafting a letter to the President renouncing my citizenship in this country and going somewhere else, for I cant justify working all my life in a country where we give tax free money to foreigners, Senators and Represenatives double dip, illegql aliens given amnesty and free health care and my measely retirement gets taxed and getting the shaft of paying rediculous medical costs if they should occur. I dont see anyone standing against that, just grumbling. But as for the flag, OUR HOUSE HERE IN AMERICA IS DIVIDED AND A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND, SO SAID lINCOLN......
THANK YOU, K.D.KILBY

Sorry Folks... In case this is unclear to you this is the United States of America our Flag represents that and is appropriate in all schools. Flying flags of other countries is OK as long as all countries are represented in fairness to all.

I thought talk of taking out the word "God" in the pledge of allegiance was bad enough. Now the flag may be offensive to some that live here? I'm embarrased to be a legal citizen here.
Give me a break! Hello this is America, not Mexico. They can display there flag proudly in there country , just as we should in ours.
Where in the world have all our values, beliefs and principles that this country was founded on, gone?
Sincerely, DH

The mexican flag should only be flown at their embassy. The American flag should be allowed everywhere, we are living in the USA unless the mexicans have teleprotation ablities and we are now living in mexico why should the mexican flag be allowed. The illegals may want to get what was their land back but it will be over my dead body. I have no issue with the Latinos here legally, but the illegals need to go home. Yo no Quiero hablo espanol. If that is not correct too bad.
