Elizabeth Hoffman has resigned as president of the University of Colorado amid a football recruiting scandal and a national controversy over Ward Churchill, an activist professor who compared victims of the Sept. 11 attacks to a notorious Nazi. Do you think that's enough to get CU straightened out? What or who will fix the problems plaguing CU?

All of the angry professors should be fired.
The problem with some (LWL)professors is that they are angry like the taliban terrorists. They all need to be put on some kind of anti-depressants.
What happened to teaching love in the classroom instead of Hate. The media is talking about Hate, hate, hate and more hate. It's like a little kid who is spoiled and yells and screams, until he/she gets their own way.
Most professors should be teaching about the foundation of this nation, and not teaching about hating the foundation of this nation. If you take the foundation away from a house the house will not stand, and it will fall. The professors are taking away the foundation of this nation, and without a foundation this country will fall and not stand. Most angry hate filled professors, should be put on prozac and not be allowed to teach our childern how to lie and hate each other.
The Schools should be where love is taught and not hate. Why do you think our kids here in the USA are the dumbest students in the world? It's because they are taught dumb subjects in school that have no relivants to the real aspects of life. For over 150 years our schools taught the Bible, and our country grew happy and great. Than a bunch of crazy people took over, and only 13 judges said, "the whole USA can't have Bible's in the school". Now the country is going down hill with a bunch of crazy, (LWL)left wing liers,teachers trying to tell our kids how to hate, lie and destoy our own country. What do you do when you have a bunch of cock roaches in your house? You have to get rid of them. These crazy teachers are like a bunch of rats. They have to go. Sincerely, Linda M

wa0eaj needs to learn where to throw stones when lecturing on spelling, sentence structure and grammar.
U kneed two listin UP:
Sentences begin with capital letters. Grammar is spelled with an 'a' not an 'e'. The word ?spell check? is either hyphenated or not. The word ?embarrassed? was also misspelled. In your statement you've used not enough periods and too many commas with most of those in the wrong places. You have inserted quotes but not closed quotes. How about those run-on sentences?
Unfortunately the glaring errors in your spelling, grammar and sentence structure have taken away from the point you were trying to make.

Firewalls for one. Whoever runs CU's IT department should not be employed there any longer. That CU is just now implementing firewalls to protect the integrity of their student's personal data, particularly those who use their health clinic, is simply unbelievable. Encryption software should have been implemented from the beginning, NOT after these hack attacks setting up the students for identity theft.
As far as Mr. Churchill is concerned, I am astonished people would make an opinion on him without reading what he really wrote about. The only thing anti-American is that the fascists would seek to fire him for exercising his freedom of speech. His views are nothing compared to the socialists at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For those who don't get what I am writing, Milwaukee was run by socialists until recently.
How do you help CU? Let them educate as the fine college they are containing two nobel prize winning physicists without fear of reprisal for exercising their rights of freedom of speech. Fascism is alive and well. The Patriot Act and the use of America's military for medical experimentation runs parallel to how Germany was in the 1930's. The people gave Hitler an inch, and he lead them to their destruction. We must destroy this seed of fascism or 1862 may be our fate in the 21st century.

first off, I am troubled by some of the "college educated" responses I'm reading... Listen UP, kids... "spellcheck" won't save you - you must LEARN sentence structure, grammer, and spelling. Now that that's over...
Tenure is a stupendous error - What ever happened to MERIT and PERFORMANCE? Like the sales field, gratification comes as a result of EFFORT, thus Mr. Churchill should depart the institution. He has LIED about his heritage; he has LIED about his writings; he has embarrased and defamed the good name of many who preceded him, and based on CU policies, lying on your "application" is grounds for IMMEDIATE TERMINATION. "Higher Education is simply NOT what it once was, and I fear that CU's aggressively liberal agenda, will only continue, until both Hoffman & Churchill "go away"

It's not broken. CU is an excellent college and has very good professors. Leave them alone and let them do the jov of educating. Leave the politics to the politians

I really don't care about CU but I do care about justice and free speech. How many of you have actually read Churchill's controversial article? After 9/11 noone wanted to look inward at why the US is so hated around the world. I think the response to Churchill's statements highlights what is wrong with America, it's arrogant and ethnocentric. Don't tell me to go back to where I came from either because I am American Indian.

It is what college it is about. It is about time society figured out what college is REALLY all about. This p.R. they CAN'T manipulate and control.Churchill let the cat out of the bag. GO CHURCHILL!!! keep spilling the beans .Egotistical teachers before anything else, and sometimes nothing else. And the protection they have goes right through the Governors office, because I been there complaining about a teacher the same way. NO response. What churchill is about is no different than anybody else with unregulated power. Churchill is the best thing that could have happened as far as news from the "inside" of a college. Hard to come by. Almost as rare as the great white buffalo. Let him talk so he can teach people outside of college what it is about. He sounds so much like my old teacher, who was even more out of line as far as subject matter than Churhill. teacher I had at Arapahoe Community College that I got thrown out for complaining about. Any way a guy like this can only teach us more about college than than anything FROM IT. Firing him would only protect and hide its MAJOR faults. And they are many and huge. Besdides we dont ned another Columbine do we? Teachers and administrations like that lead to that. Harrasment from teachers is no different than from students.Atleast I didnt and dont think it is. Dont blame Churchill for operating within a in a broken system. He is right at home where he belongs. Fix the entire system or leave him alone. It is typical to blame one guy and act like every7thing is O.K. , but 0one guy doesnt taech for 25 years and not have but 3 complaints filed against him and get raises WITHOUT A LITTLE HELP or a lot. Lets be real . C.U. isnt only Churchill, and it isnt the only college doing it. Beside's with colleges like this maybe we now have the reason for why students have to get so drunk to get through . And don't bother telling anybody if you get raped either. Nobody cares. Nobody is supposed to. Them social things are required not frowned upon, in a "nothing" (or atleast first and foremost environment) but social enginerring environment.It relates more to a brainwashing cult. A proffessor in a lot of ways is like a politician. Somebody who wouldnt be able to find a job in the real world due to his self centered sick illusionistic idealogy. They belong in mental institutions NOT SCHOOLS. And to think parents pay for this JUNK.Is it babysitting service they are looking for? It is a high price to pay, in more wa7ys than one if they really care. Chap one if they dont. Oh well so much for responsibility and passing it onto anybody else, that will lie and take the money. Legal fraud and robbery. They paid me to go to school but it was never enough. And never can be.

Churchill needs to fired and the way tenure is done needs to change. CU seems to have more problems than any of the other universities in the state. That needs to be looked into also by an independent commitee.

I really feel that the best solution to this problem is to just fire Churchill. He has simply refused to let other students' speak their minds. I have heard on the radio, of one student who tried to speak her mind, and he simply refused to hear it. It is his opinion, and that is final. I want him out of CU as soon as possible. He is a bad influence.
