Convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh is scheduled to die by lethal injection May 16. Hundreds of survivors have said that they would like the execution to be telecast on closed-circuit TV, and U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft approved the plan. Some say that this is not appropriate, and others want any interested citizen to have access to the execution online. What do you think?

YES, I DEFINETLY THINK THAT McVEIGH EXECUTION SHOULD BE VIEW BY EVERYONE ESPECIALLY THE FAMILY OF THE VICTIMS. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SIT IN THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOMES AND ENJOY THE SHOW WHILE HE IS PUT TO DEATH. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM PUT TO DEATH. EVEN IF I HAVE TO ORDER IT FROM PAY-PER-VIEW. IT IS WORTH WATCHING IT. HE KILL ONE OF MY LONG TIME FRIENDS DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND. THANKS, LOWELL MASSACHUSETTS
thank you, cchan

In my opinion, televising his exucution would be giving him way to much ATTENTION!!! He dosen't deserve our time. I beleive he should be locked in a cell somewhere, fed once a day for the rest of his life, with no human contact what's so ever. Let him suffer for the rest of his existance. The victem's familly will have to live without their loved-ones forever, so why give him the ultimate end for his crime??? LET HIM SUFFER ALONE. For when he does accually dies, by then no one will give a damn.

I do not feel good about this circus. I think we slip down to a psychopath's level, like McVeigh's level, by crowding in to watch him die. I think he should serve life in prison, a guaranteed long-term (until death) punishment. Lethal injection is like going to sleep. Give him life in prison, and let's all leave the circus tent atmosphere.

I personally have no desire to watch this happen. Death is too good for McVeigh. He is getting exactly what he wants - notoriety. I think we should lock him away for the rest of his sorry life and let him die knowing that he is an old and forgotten man.

Although I am not America, I am Canadian, I personally feel that exicution is the easy way out for McVeigh. I say keep him in prison, rice, water, and bread, a small window to let light in but high enough so that he can not see out it, perhaps being able to hear the birds sing but not being able to see them. Put up some closed circuit cameras so others can look at him this may be enough for others to feel a little more at ease. Lock him up like a crazed animal maybe even like a zoo exibit, for the whole world to be able to look in and watch McVeigh eat his rice and bread. Perhaps put a speaker into the cell so people on the out side could say things to him, but he could not reply. No putting McVegh to death is all too easy, make him suffer for the rest of his living days just like the families will be doing.
Thank you for your time, Pegusis

In my opinion, I would like to see him fry. I think this lethal injecion thing does not even come close to the pain that he has caused parents, grand parents, children, and friends. Those children had their whole life ahead of them and this sick man took everything they had or ever will have away from them for his own selfish reasons. In my opinion I think he should fry in the electric chair and if that cannot happen he should spend the rest of his life in prision. Giving him the injection is worthless. He will die in peace. No pain, no remorse, nothing. Now I am sure some people do not agree with me, but I know that if something happened to my child or any of my family. I would want to kill that person myself. These type of sick inividuals deserve nothing but the worst that they can get.Again I would like to see him die. It is not really for closure it is for my own personal reasons to see the person that KILLED 168 inocent people including 19 children suffer the way he has made those families. Also when I say suffer I mean electric, you know where the eyes pop out of your head.

I say before killing him you better make sure he is guilty and not just admitting to a major crime for publicity. I think the family members are full of hatred and vengeance. This will not bring any closure and they will pay the ultimate price before God when they are judged for wanting another man to suffer pain. They don't have the right to Judege McVeigh or anyone else. The family members need to learn to forgive. The death penalty should be televised for all to see if it is to be used as a deterrent or else it defeats the purpose. As a government employee I have seen waste first hand and think our tax dollars would be better spent if we had prisoners do hard labor building government facilities and performing community service.
