Will Huggins' leaving be good or bad in the short term? Long term? Who would make a good replacement short term? Long term? If you're a Huggins backer, will you withhold donations or refuse to buy tickets?

Hey, It's like this. We impeached a president for doing what all the other presidents did. Had affairs in the white house. So which is more dangerous? Having sex or drinking too much? Huggins was a drunk...how many times was he out there driving drunk and was let off? Fine example! Remember, he was a coach, and a coach teaches...Which lesson you want those young men to learn? But I have not answered your question. I wont lose any sleep.

The basketball program at UC can die for all I care. Colleges are there to educate people, not entertain the masses. I think Nancy is doing a great job of making UC more competitive academically and improving it's reputation. If that means she has to get rid of a couple of people, then so be it. It's life, GET OVER IT!!! Huggins will find work elsewhere I'm sure.

The dear Doctor says that she does not have time to feel offended, maybe she should take the time, it might open her eyes? This entire debacle was motivated over power, she did not command the respect and Bob did.
UC will stink up the court this season and maybe many more to come, and it will be the fault of a power hungry person that could not stand to face the fact that she did not rule the roost. Bob knew that a change was needed that is why he pushed for the Big East, it would open up opportunities to recruit a different mentality of player.
Now it will be very difficult to recruit top talent with a no name coach and we can blame the dear Doctor for many years of losses.

As a UC alum, I was very saddened to see Huggs go. I felt lost, especially with no one to talk to as I'm living in UCONN country. My loyalty to the school has definately been shaken. If she was going to do this, I don't see why she couldn't do it a year ago, after the DUI rather than waiting until over a year later and two months after the school became part of the Big East. The school had very little chance getting into that conference without the basketball program that Huggs has built over the last 16 years. I was so excited that I was actually going to see games on TV up here, with the chance of even going to the game when they were in town. But now, this season will be bittersweet - if I even pay attention.
And who's to say that the Big East schools don't have their own problems. Two UCONN players were just arrested for similar problems that we've seen from some past UC players. I bet their coach won't be fired for not living up to standards since he was just inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Good luck Huggs in all of your future endeavors. You will be missed!

I agree with the other fan's Huggins is Cincy..I was at Montgomery Inn when they were filming Gregory's reaction..I am sad for the city of Cincinnati, not only do we have a "no win" team with the Reds or the Bengals..The BearCats were our only "winning" team. I feel for the students at UC and their families. My daughter is looking to possibly enroll in UC, of course, she does not play sports, but I wonder what type of "changes" this institution is going to do...where is our education system for our kids...???? Tuition goes up, education performance goes down..I think Huggins should have been allowed to stay..no wonder everyone goes to the "other side of the river"....

I am also upset that Mr. Huggins is gone. We will all miss him. The president took away the fun in college. Who wants a boring college. Thanks to the president thats what it will be. I bet she has driven drunk atleast once in her life time. Huggins made a mistake, get over it.He paid the price. If I had to put up with her, I would go drink too. Its not his fault that his players go out and commit crimes. No one is perfect. We all have things hidden in our closets. Huggins should stick it to the president in his last 3 months.

I am not really a UC fan, but I would watch them on tv. I am sad to see Hugs leave-I feel he ran a god program. It seems like the students they are interviewing on tv about him being gone all have foreign names. Are they paying for school? Is that what NZ wants? Any long term employee should never be handled in this manner. I feel this is part of the reason our country is in the shape it is in. Employers have no loyalty to employees!

I'm not happy Bob is gone as he is the sole reason the Bearcats are moving in to the Big East, a conference that can generate a lot of money for all of U.C.'s sports teams. I heard that the overall graduation rate is something like 45% at U.C. and if that statement is accurate then it certainly diminishes the academic angle or his firing since he graduated 11 of the last 17 players. The sad part is that after 16 years of putting U.C. in the spotlight, mostly for positive basketball success, the real disappointment is the manner in which the termination is occurring. It appears they waited until on the UCats/Season ticket money was in before they let the axe fall. Bob deserved a farewell tour or at least celebration of his success. Bob is not the loser in this, he has money and the ability to coach on his side. The real loser are the fans. I didn't go to U.C., but they were my team....our team. I am hopeful they will seek a qualified coach as this city doesn't have a lot to be proud of in sports....Go Bengals!
Sincerely,
Greg L. Rabbit Hash, KY
