What do you think of UC Head Basketball Coach Bob Huggins' citation for allegedly driving drunk? What impact do you think it will have on the team? The university? Huggins career?

Coach has issues. He needs to chill on the drinking. Maybe only do it on weekends or once a month or something. But never, ever drink and drive dude! Man, with all his money he could hire a driver and get plowed and not danger anyone. Doh!

Cantakit: I think Huggins was suspended indefintly until he gets in a treatment program that will help him control if not defeat his addiction. Huggins has been through a lot and perhaps this was one of those nights when he thought drinking would help. After he gets the treatment he needs, he'll most likely will be reinstated to his position, with stipulations, of course.

I dont think there is anyone who is saying that driving drunk is ok. Everyone knows that it can kill you, or God forbid somebody else, but...If you want him treated like everyone else, that does not include him being fired. Do you have any idea how many people are arrested for this, and have to pay through the courts, but are still sitting 2 desks down from where you are? People do not get fired for this. (Unless you job is driving) Let him get whatever punishment he gets from the court. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

I do hope Performance is willing to get sued if Mr. Huggins has another DUI and injures someone.

What is this world coming to? Judges are way too lenient in cases of DUI. I could not believe what I was hearing from the judge. The judge first said that Huggins driver's license is taken away for 6 months, then adds that he can drive to and from work, etc. What kind of decision is that? He should NOT be driving for those 6 months. I think the impact would hit him harder if he had to find another way to get to work, etc. How many other drivers have been given a slap on the wrist for a DUI? I'm sure Huggins is basically a good and decent man, but he made the biggest mistake of his life--he could have killed someone!! Our courts need to have stiffer penalties for these drunk drivers--a slap on the wrist is ridiculous!!

UCFan: Any evidence in the case is public information, and is therefore able to be shown publicly. If Huggins manages to get off on this charge (I doubt it, from what I've seen on the video), then without the video and police report being public, it becomes a coverup. With the report and tape, it looks like he's being vilified by the media, but in all reality all we're seeing is unbiased evidence.
Tracey T: Yes, the law would apply to him, if he actually owned the vehicle he drives. He has a contract w/ Performance Lexus, and drives a car owned by them w/ a dealer plate.

I think it is VERY wrong that Bob's wife got to come "pick him up" after he was driving around with vomit down the side of his car. We all saw the video and how trashed he was. He should have spent the night in jail.
If you or I would have been in the shape he was, we would have been sleeping it off in jail FOR SURE! That is CRAZY that he just got to go home with his wife!
Where was he doing all this drinking? What if he had killed someone....would the establishment he was drinking in have been held responsible?
Who the heck was the bartender/waiter/waitress serving him all those drinks!?
Did'nt they see how trashed he was? Why did'nt they ...or one of his drinking buddies.... take his keys away or call him a cab!?
I think he should spend a little time in jail like the rest of us would be required to do if we would have been caught driving around trashed with vomit down the side of our car!!
Also, IF those cops had found him drinking and driving before, but just "gave him a happy little ride home", well that is REALLY wrong and is a whole different story and someone on that police force should be in deep trouble!!!!!!!!!
Huggins makes me sick, but I do hope he gets the help he needs before he kills himself or someone else!

The man made a mistake, he is only human. And this case shouldn't be treated any different then any other case like this, no matter who he is or isnt. But from the get go it hasnt. And it seems for his one mistake people are quick to forget the 15 years of service he has given to the university but also to the communtiy. But that 15 years of hard work and service doesnt matter now to those out there that are quick to sit in judgement, seeing how they themselves must not be human and never have or will make a mistake in there lives. Right.

I know what it is like to be on Heart Medication, if you drink a beer or two the medication makes you drunk faster because the blood is thinner. Bob Huggins needs not to drink and drive or have a designated driver take him home, he should not even drink when taking the medication. I know I stopped Drinking beer because of the medication. This will not have an impact on the team. Huggins scarred his name a little, but look at the man, he is a great coach and family man. Everyone makes a mistake and this mistake he should be happy because the police are looking out for his safety and well being
