Are you planning to attend the Rev. Billy Graham's mission in Cincinnati? What do you hope to get out of it? Do you think it will change your life? And if you've already attend a Graham mission, what can you tell people to expect at the Cincinnati mission?

I would like to thank the good Rev. Graham, he stood fast his commitment to the people of Cincinnati. This is to be addmired, a good man not afraid of some controversey, stepping in to help people come together. He could have cancelled like other so-called role models, such as Bill Cosbey. It is my firm belief that durring a time of social unrest the good and rightous will take a stand while other wouldbe great men shrink from their duty.
Old enought not to care about politicaly correct. Say things plain and simple, to the heart, and true.

Herballife:Actually, I hope he does make a profit and that God rewards him financially for all the work he has done. I would gladly sew my seed into fertile soil such as Grahams ministry. Hes been at it since 1945, and not once has his ministry been rocked with scandal. (At least Ive never heard of it. Im only 39) Sadly it sounds as if youve grown up in a church where poverty is noble. Unfortunately it has probably rendered you ineffective in your own ministry. Your post sounds more like one of envy and resentment, that someone is able to reach thousands in just four days and youve probably been asking people to follow you for years, but have only had minor results. Even though God doesnt keep score, you may still be frustrated that, because of no fruit on your tree, not as many pick from it as you would like.
I dont think at Grahams age and health, he is really concerned about how much more profit he can pull in. It does take money to support a ministry. It takes a whole lot to support one the size of his. Thats why they pass the collection plate at your church every week.
Hey, just be glad the message got out as strong as it did. It was more effective that sitting at home watching TV or even reading the bible. Get off of the websites and out on the front lines.

HerbalLove: Nice Scriptures, but remember Satan was once the Prince of Angels, until his wings got too big for him, so God kicked him and 7 of his followers out of Heaven, and gave him his own kingdom. Next item. Do you have actual proof that Graham is making money off of these crusades? Do you have his financial statements for the last 40 years to prove that he's making millions of dollars by preaching the Scriptures? Next item...what do you consider a "holy place vs a non-holy place? If I'm not mistaken, the Scriptures read..."Where one or more are gathered in my name, so shall I be among you." Therefore, it doesn't make any difference where I am, when I worship God, he will be with me. Sounds like you have a problem with Graham and the work he has done and is still doing. At no time has he ever said, "Follow me to be save." Instead, he has asked people to come forward and accept Christ as your Savior. He leads the people in prayer, gives out some literature regarding Christ in your life, and you are free to leave or remain to speak with him. All donations to the ministries are voluntared and from private contributors. So why are you so upset?

I find it amazing that there are some people who believe that Rev. Billy Graham does these missions to "make money". He doesn't get paid to do these missions. The thousands of volunteers who help in one form or another, devoting days and many hours don't make a dime, nor do they expect to have their name mentioned or printed. Rev. Billy Graham is just a man. He's not an "idol", or someone to worship. He teaches us, non-denominationally, that we need Christ in our lives, we need to reach out to our neighbor, and ......be color blind. The Bible does say that whenever two or more are gathered in His name, He will be present. Using guest speakers such as Anthony Munoz, Sean Alexander, and the various musical talents are to appeal to those who are "affraid" of just being preached at or preached to. No, you don't have to be in such a public place to profess your faith, but where else are you going to "house" a crowd of thousands? Rev. Billy Graham is popular, well loved and admired because he TRULY cares about you and your relationship with Christ, NOT his notoriety. God still love you.....and so do we!

Matthew 6:5-6, Jesus says, "When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites. They love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners and pray so people will see them. I tell you the truth, they already have their full reward. When you pray, you should go into your room and close the door and pray to your Father who cannot be seen. Your Father can see what is done in secret, and He will reward you."

I've been saved and bought by the blood since 1977. I can tell you the day and the hour. I even got saved in a "false prophet" type church, but God knows how to save his own. I am one of the helpers in the crusade. Out of all of us attending, surly one or two of us would be really be calling on Jesus name and Jesus said, where ever two or more are gathered in my name, there I will be. The spirit of God is at the Billy Graham Crusade, and the seekers who come to find Jesus, will find him. Even in the mist of all the bad. Because He is God! To the "Righteous" ones outside the crusade, who say everyone wearing a red t-shirt is going to hell, and you need to let us know, you need to really get busy in the kingdom of God. You have a long road ahead of you. And I pray that you never, go or do anything wrong in your pilgrim walk...because how you judge, is how you will be judge. Mean and ugly with no love. Just a few scriptures to scream at people as they go about there business. Anybody can do that. Anybody. I would suggest you wait, till it's dark outside, and go to where the evil and Satan really is, maybe outside a bar, or gambling casino, and preach and scream at them, and see how brave you are in Jesus name. Because your just messing with Gods little ones, and woe unto to him who causes one of his little ones to fall, it would be better for him to have a mill stone around his neck....you need to let Jesus soften your heart.
In Christ, Debbie

How is it so admirable for a profit-driven preacher to stand up and say "love each other regardless of race etc..,?"
Why is that such a big deal? Give me a microphone and I'll say the same thing, but I won't get paid for it.
It's sad that people need to be surrounded by thousands to re-affirm their faith in a stadium atmosphere reminiscent of a rock concert and pay their way in to Christ's acceptance.
It's as if you are saying "look how powerful we are, how glitzy and glamorous we can be!"
"We need an icon to worship, to tell us how to live our lives."
I don't need attendeees or Billy Graham or celebrities to tell me what's right and what's wrong, I can remain faithful despite hard economic times and not being born an athletic 6'8" and 300 pounds, or having an IQ of 200, or making millions from a flock of suburbanites.
Good people don't have to be denominized, wear their religion on their sleeves, or be seen in public to prove themselves.
True believers have it in their hearts and minds and practice what they preach every day.
Those are the people I admire, not the glamour seeking, profit-driven capitalists who need to be in the spotlight and seemingly need to prove to the world how faithful they are via yelling and singing louder than everyone else.
I'm just as spiritual, righteous and virtuous as any Graham attendee and don't feel the need to gratify myself in public in order to re-affirm who I am and what kind of person I am, or what I think and hope of others.
I really don't see any point in this mass ritual taking place in a non-holy place where suit and ties and sunbed tanned men with gold rings and lots of money tell me things I already know.
I know more than they do about life as a result of humility and experience, not self-gratification, profit, image and once-a-year shallow gospel fests.
It's rather sickening.

I attended the Billy Graham Mission last night, and I have to say it was absolutely AWESOME! Graham preaches a message of loving your neighbors, regardless of race, economic class, or religion. While there were protesters there, they were totally insignificant, as the only people that stopped to talk to them were people who wanted to share the message of Christ with them. I highly recommend attending at least one night of the mission. Your life will be touched in an amazing way. This is a time when Cincinnati is in great need of healing, and I think that God sent Billy Graham here for just that - to get the process started!

I truely admire Billy Graham for his obediance to God in giving his life to the gospel of Jesus Christ. And, as the Apostle Paul once said, "I preach Christ and Him Crucified"...so it is with Dr. Graham. The simple but profound message of Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross will never die. But it takes courage to tell it. Thank you Billy, you're our 20th century hero.
