Experts say that, on average, teenagers are having their first sexual experience at a younger age almost every time they're surveyed. Why is this happening?

(As always, no personal attacks allowed. Be respectful of each other, please)

Tracy Huber is dead on. Talking to your children early and often is key.

As is choosing the right parner to have children with. It's the single most important choice we make. Some seem to make this choice pretty casually.

I have 4 wonderful children from the ages of 13-18. All of whom are still virgins. I make it a habit to always talk to my children about the disadvantages of premarital sex and the consequences. It doesn't hurt to show them pics from a dermatology book of what STD's look like and what they can do to you either. Communication is the best weapon we have for our kids today. Use it parents. It's free.

There is peer pressure and lots of families around the greater cinti area have no respect for their kids, which causes them to have no respect for themselves. If people would work on teaching welfare recipients how to love, care and respect their children, instead of making them go to work, we wouldn't keep producing children who are violent and who start to have sex at a young age. I am not picking on welfare recipients. I myself use foodstamps and medicaid. But I have been at the welfare building, and trust me, lots of people down there throw, kick and cuss their kids, right in front of everyone!!! And I have reported this, children's services is in that same building, but just lets it go on. Protect all of the children in our city. Then they will feel secure and loved. If they feel important, their self esteem will be better, and they will be able to say, "no" and feel good about. Trust me, it happened to me.
